Its robust design includes an IP55 rating, making it suitable for various environmental conditions.

4. Tatūnga

4.1 Assembling the Light

  1. Maunga te Maama: Attach the Alien 300C panel to a sturdy light stand using the integrated yoke and clampMe whakarite kia mau te mau.
  2. Attach Softbox (Optional): The quick-release softbox can be easily attached to the front of the light panel. Secure the grid to the softbox if desired for directional control.
  3. Tūhono Wae Mana: Connect the control unit to the light panel using the provided cables. Ensure connections are firm.
  4. Hononga Hiko: Connect the control unit to a suitable power source using the power cable. Alternatively, attach compatible batteries to the control unit for portable operation.

4.2 Protecting the Control Unit

When operating in wet environments, use the included rain cover to protect the control unit and any attached batteries. The light panel itself is IP55 rated, but the control unit requires this additional protection.

Locate the power button on the control unit. Press and hold to turn the light on or off. The display on the control unit will illuminate, indicating the current settings.

  • DMX/RDM: Integrate the light into a professional DMX system for precise control.
  • CRMX LumenRadio: For advanced wireless DMX control, the light supports CRMX LumenRadio.

5.3 Adjusting Light Settings

The Alien 300C allows for comprehensive adjustment of light output:

  • Tirohanga: Adjust the intensity of the light from 0% to 100%. The light delivers up to 28630 lux (2659 fc) at 1 meter (5600K).
  • Color Temperature (CCT Mode): Change the color temperature from warm tungsten to cool daylight (e.g., 2700K to 6500K).
  • RGBWW Mode: Access the full spectrum of colors using the RGBWW engine. Adjust hue, saturation, and intensity to achieve desired colors.
  • Ngā Pānga Motuhake: The light includes various built-in special effects for creative lighting scenarios. Refer to the control unit's menu or app for details.

The Alien 300C is designed for high color accuracy, featuring an SSI of 84 (3200K) and 74 (5600K), a CRI average of 96, and a TLCI average of 97. These metrics ensure faithful color reproduction for professional applications.

  • Te horoi: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the light panel and control unit. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the device. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Rokiroki: When not in use, store the light and its accessories in the provided carrying case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Tirotiro: Regularly inspect cables and connectors for any signs of wear or damage. Replace damaged components immediately.
  • Puranga wai: While the panel is IP55 rated, prolonged exposure to heavy rain or submersion should be avoided. Always use the rain cover for the control unit in wet conditions.
