2. Nga korero haumaru
- WHAKATŪPATO: Do not test cables while they are powered on. Ensure all circuits are de-energized before testing to prevent electric shock or damage to the device.
- Always use the device in accordance with local electrical safety regulations.
3. Ihirangi mokete
Tena koa tirohia te kete mo nga mea e whai ake nei:
- 1 x Cable Toner (Detector)
- 1 x Probe (Receiver)
- 1 x Test Head (Cable with various connectors)
- 1 x Manual Kaiwhakamahi (Tenei tuhinga)
- 1 x Puke Rokiroki
Tuhipoka: A 9V 6F22 battery is required for operation and is not included in the package.
4. Tatūnga
4.1 Tāuta Pūhiko
- Locate the battery compartment on both the Cable Toner and the Probe units.
- Whakatuwheratia te uhi o te wahanga pākahiko.
- Insert one 9V 6F22 battery into each unit, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Katia kia mau te uhi o te wahanga pākahiko.
4.2 Connecting the Toner
- Connect the test head cable to the Cable Toner unit.
- Depending on the cable type you are testing, use the appropriate connector (e.g., RJ11 for telephone lines, RJ45 for network cables, or alligator clips for bare wires) to connect the toner to the cable you wish to trace.
- Ensure the cable is disconnected from any active equipment and is not live.
5. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere
5.1 Wire Tracing
- Connect the Cable Toner to the target cable as described in Section 4.2.
- Turn on the Cable Toner. It will generate a tone signal onto the cable.
- Turn on the Probe (Receiver) unit.
- Adjust the sensitivity of the Probe using its control dial for optimal detection.
- Move the tip of the Probe along the path of the suspected cable. The Probe will emit an audible tone and/or illuminate an LED indicator when it detects the signal from the toner.
- Follow the strongest signal to accurately trace the cable's path.

5.2 Short Circuit and Polarity Testing
- Some models of the 200EP toner may offer additional functions like short circuit detection or polarity testing. Refer to the markings on your specific toner unit for these features.
- Typically, these functions involve connecting the toner to the cable and observing LED indicators or tone changes on the toner itself to determine circuit status or polarity.
6. Tiaki
- Te horoi: Horoia te taputapu ki te kakahu ngohengohe, maroke. Kaua e whakamahi i nga kai horoi me nga whakarewa.
- Whakakapinga Pūhiko: Replace batteries when the indicator light dims or the device performance degrades. Always use fresh 9V 6F22 batteries. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Rokiroki: Store the kit in its provided storage bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
7. Te Raru
- Kore Waitohu/Waitohu ngoikore:
- Tirohia mehemea kei te tika te whakaurunga o nga pākahiko me te nui o te utu.
- Ensure the Cable Toner is turned on and properly connected to the cable.
- Increase the sensitivity on the Probe unit.
- Verify the cable is not live or connected to other equipment that might interfere with the signal.
- Kore Mana:
- Tirohia te whakaurunga o te pākahiko me te whakakapi ki nga pākahiko hou.
- Me whakarite kei te 'ON' te whakakā hiko.
- pokanoa:
- External electrical noise can affect tracing. Try to minimize sources of interference.
- Ensure the cable being traced is isolated from other active cables if possible.
