4. Tatūnga & Tāuta
Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance and longevity of your OREiN exhaust fan. Follow these steps carefully.
4.1 Rarangi Arowhai I mua i te Whakaaturanga
- Me mohio kua momotuhia te hiko i te waahi iahiko.
- Verify ceiling construction can accommodate the fan's dimensions (8.11" x 7.48" opening recommended).
- Gather necessary tools: screwdriver, wire strippers, drill, measuring tape, safety glasses, gloves.
- Confirm all components are present: fan housing, light cover, Flex-Z Fast bracket, wiring connectors.
4.2 Nga Waahi Whakataunga
- Whakaritea te Tuwhera: Create a ceiling opening of approximately 8.11" x 7.48" between ceiling joists.
- Whare Maunga:
- Attach the Flex-Z Fast bracket to the fan housing.
- Position the fan housing between the ceiling joists.
- Secure the housing to the joists using the Flex-Z Fast bracket, or by nailing/screwing directly to the joist. Ensure the housing is level and firmly attached.
- Hononga Paipa: Connect appropriate ductwork (not supplied) to the fan's exhaust port. Ensure a tight, sealed connection to prevent air leakage.
- Waea waea:
- Route electrical wiring into the fan's junction box.
- Connect the fan's wires to the household wiring according to local electrical codes. Typically, this involves connecting live, neutral, and ground wires.
- Me whakarite kia mau nga hononga katoa me te whakamaarama.
- Tāuta Uwhi Maama: Once wiring is complete and tested, attach the light cover (10.1'' x 10.1'') to the fan housing. Ensure it snaps securely into place.

5. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere
Your OREiN Bathroom Exhaust Fan with Light is designed for simple operation.
5.1 Mahi Fan
The exhaust fan is typically controlled by a standard wall switch. Flip the switch to turn the fan ON or OFF. Note that the fan may have a slight delay (a few seconds) in starting up due to its slow start mechanism, which protects the DC motor.
5.2 Light Operation and Color Temperature Selection
The integrated LED light can be controlled independently or in conjunction with the fan, depending on your wiring setup. The light offers three color temperature options (3000K, 4000K, 5000K) and a nightlight mode.
- Te Kowhiri i te Pawera Tae: To change the light color temperature, locate the small toggle switch on the fan housing (before installing the light cover). Slide this switch to select your desired color temperature (3000K Warm White, 4000K Cool White, or 5000K Daylight).
- Activating Nightlight Mode: The nightlight mode can be activated by quickly cycling the light switch ON-OFF-ON within 2 seconds. This will switch the light to a low-intensity nightlight setting. To return to the main light, cycle the switch again.

6.1 Cleaning the Fan and Light Cover
- Auautanga: Clean the fan and light cover at least once every six months, or more frequently if dust and debris accumulate.
- Momotu Mana: Turn off power at the circuit breaker before cleaning.
- Tango uhi: Carefully remove the light cover by gently pulling it down or releasing any clips.
- Clean Cover: Wash the light cover with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reattaching.
- Clean Fan Housing: Use a soft cloth or a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust and debris from the fan grille, motor, and interior housing. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Huihuia: Once clean and dry, reattach the light cover securely. Restore power.
