2. Nga korero haumaru
- Haumaru Pūhiko: Use only specified batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Insert batteries with correct polarity. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.

5. Tatūnga

- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the walkie talkie.
- Gently push down on the clip and slide the cover downwards to open.
- Insert 4 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and - terminals match the markings inside the compartment).

6.3 Channel Selection:

6.4 Transmitting and Receiving:

- When receiving a signal, the signal strength indicator on the display will show activity.

7. Āhuatanga Arā
7.1 VOX (Voice Operated Exchange):
VOX allows you to transmit without pressing the PTT button. The walkie talkie will automatically transmit when it detects your voice.
- Pehia te Mana / Tahua button twice. The VOX icon will flash on the display.
- Whakamahia te Runga (+) or Raro (-) buttons to select the VOX sensitivity level (e.g., 1-3, with 3 being most sensitive). Select "OF" to turn VOX off.

7.2 Scan Function:
The scan function allows the walkie talkie to automatically scan all 8 channels for activity.
- Pehia te Mana / Tahua button three times. The "SCAN" icon will appear on the display.
- The walkie talkie will begin scanning channels. When a signal is detected, it will stop on that channel.

7.3 Monitor Function:
The monitor function allows you to listen to weak signals on the current channel by temporarily disabling the squelch.
