6. Tatūnga

6.1 Te hono i te Kaiwhiwhi

  1. Hononga Antenna: Honoa tō taura pūihi whenua ki te ANT KI port on the rear of the receiver.
  2. Hononga TV:
    • For High Definition: Connect an HDMI cable (not included) from the receiver's HDMI PUTA port to an HDMI input on your TV.
    • For Standard Definition (older TVs): Connect a SCART cable (not included) from the receiver's SCART port to the SCART input on your TV.
  3. Hononga Hiko: Honoa te urutau hiko kua whakaratohia ki te DC IN 12V port on the receiver, then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
  4. USB Storage (Optional): For PVR and Timeshift functions, connect a USB flash drive or external hard drive (formatted to FAT32 or NTFS) to the USB port on the front panel.

Upon first power-on, the receiver will typically launch an initial setup wizard. Follow the on-screen prompts to configure language, country, and perform an automatic channel scan.

6.3 Channel Scanning (AUTOSCAN & LCN)

  • AUTOSCAN: The receiver features an AUTOSCAN function that automatically scans for available channels. This can be initiated during the initial setup or manually via the menu.
  • LCN (Tau Hongere Ararau): Once channels are found, the LCN function automatically organizes them into a logical order, making navigation easier.
  • Whakahōu Aunoa: The AUTOSCAN function can also scan for new channels while the decoder is in standby mode and automatically update the channel list.

7.1 Basic TV Viewing

7.2 PVR (Personal Video Recorder) Functionality

The TS6822's dual tuner allows for advanced recording capabilities.

  • USB Storage Preparation: Ensure your USB drive is connected and formatted to FAT32 or NTFS. The receiver may require specific partitioning for PVR functions; if recordings stop prematurely, check the PVR setup in the menu to ensure the correct partition is selected for recording.

  • Scheduled Recording (Timer):

    3. You can also schedule recordings directly from the EPG.
    4. Tuhipoka: Ensure the auto-shutdown timer in the system settings is set to "Off" or a duration longer than your recording, as it can interrupt recordings.
  • Twin Tuner Advantage: With the dual tuner, you can record one channel while watching another, or record two channels simultaneously (if they are on different frequencies). You can also watch a previously recorded program while a new recording is in progress.
  • Huringa Wā: Pehia te TATAHI button during live TV to activate Timeshift. The program will pause and begin recording. Press TAKARO to resume from where you left off. You can fast forward or rewind within the buffered content.

7.3 Pūpāpāho

  • Check the system's auto-shutdown timer setting. Ensure it is set to "Off" or a duration longer than your recording.
  • Verify the USB drive is correctly formatted (FAT32 or NTFS) and that the PVR function is configured to use the main storage partition. The receiver might create multiple partitions; ensure the largest one is selected for recordings.
  • Ensure sufficient free space on the USB storage device.
Cannot record or Timeshift.
  • Ensure a compatible USB storage device is connected and properly recognized.
  • Check USB drive formatting and PVR settings as described above.
