  1. Whakakīa te Putunga Wai: Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water to the desired level using the water level indicator. Do not exceed the MAX line.
  2. Tāpirihia nga papa kawhe: Place the reusable mesh filter into the brew basket. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one tablespoon of ground coffee per cup. Close the lid securely.
  3. Te Tūnga o te Karafe: Place the empty glass carafe with its lid onto the warming plate. Ensure it is properly seated to activate the anti-drip mechanism.

  5. Mahi: Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" mode. You can remove the carafe to pour coffee at any time during or after brewing. The anti-drip feature will temporarily stop the flow of coffee.
  6. Weto-Aunoa: The warming plate will keep the coffee warm for 2 hours, then automatically shut off.

Programmable Brewing

To set the coffee maker to brew automatically at a later time:

  1. Follow steps 1 and 2 from "Brewing Coffee" above (fill water and add grounds).
  2. Pehia te MAUI button. The display will flash "AM 12:00".
  3. Whakamahia te HOUR a MIN buttons to set your desired brew time. Ensure the AM/PM indicator is correct.
  4. Pehia te MAUI button again to confirm the programmed time. The "AUTO" indicator light will illuminate.
  5. The coffee maker will now automatically start brewing at the set time.

Brew Strength Control

To adjust the strength of your coffee:

  • After adding water and coffee grounds, press the KAHA button before starting the brew cycle.
  • The "STRONG" indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the coffee maker will brew a bolder cup of coffee.
  • Pehia te KAHA button again to deactivate the strong brew setting.

Mineral deposits from water can affect coffee maker performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly.

  1. Whakaritea te Rongoa: Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts cold water.
  2. Brew Cycle: Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Press the ON/OFF AUTO button to run a brew cycle with the vinegar solution.
  3. Waiwai: After the cycle, turn off the coffee maker and let the solution sit in the carafe for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Horoi huringa: Discard the vinegar solution. Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water and run two full brew cycles with only water to rinse thoroughly.
