Follow these steps to install your 3.5-inch SATA hard drive into the NexStar HX enclosure and connect it to your computer.

1. Tāuta Puku Mārō

  1. Whakatuwheratia te Whakapiri: Carefully slide open the enclosure to access the internal tray.
  2. Honoa te Puku Mārō: Align your 3.5-inch SATA hard drive with the SATA data and power connectors on the enclosure's circuit board. Gently push the hard drive until it is firmly seated.
  3. Secure the Hard Drive: Use the provided screws from the screw set to secure the hard drive to the internal tray. Ensure it is stable.
  4. Katia te Whakapiri: Slide the internal tray back into the enclosure until it clicks into place. Use the remaining screws to secure the enclosure's outer casing.

  1. Hono Hono: Plug the AC adapter into the enclosure's power port and then into a wall outlet.
  2. Tūhono USB: Connect one end of the provided USB cable to the enclosure's USB 3.0 port and the other end to an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Whakahiko: Turn on the enclosure using the power switch. The enclosure will be detected by your operating system.
  4. Drive Initialization (New Drives Only): If you are using a new hard drive, it may need to be initialized and formatted through your operating system's Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS) before it can be used. Refer to your operating system's documentation for detailed instructions.

The NexStar HX features a 60mm cooling fan with an On/Off/Variable switch. You can adjust the fan speed to optimize cooling performance and noise levels. For sustained high-performance use or in warm environments, it is recommended to set the fan to a higher speed. For lighter use, a lower speed or off setting may be sufficient.

The enclosure supports a power-saving mode that spins down the hard drive when the connected computer enters sleep mode. This feature helps conserve energy and extend the lifespan of your hard drive. Ensure the enclosure is connected to a working computer system for this function to operate correctly.

Tango Haumaru

Always safely eject the hard drive from your operating system before disconnecting the USB cable or powering off the enclosure to prevent data corruption. For Windows, use "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media." For macOS, drag the drive icon to the Trash or use the Eject option.
