Nga Korero Haumaru Nui

TUpato: This product may detect live AC voltage. Always exercise extreme caution when working near electrical wires or outlets. Disconnect power to the area if possible before drilling, cutting, or performing any work. Do not use this device in wet or damp conditions. Failure to follow these instructions could result in electric shock, injury, or property damage.

Tatūnga

1. Tāuta Pūhiko

The Zircon Pro 45 Stud Sensor requires one 9-volt alkaline battery for operation.

  1. Kimihia te uhi o te wahanga pākahiko kei muri o te taputapu.
  2. Slide the cover open or remove it according to the markings.
  3. Connect a new 9-volt alkaline battery, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  4. Whakakapihia te uhi o te wahanga pākahiko kia mau.

Tuhipoka: Always use a fresh alkaline battery for optimal performance. Replace the battery when the low battery indicator illuminates or if the device does not power on.

2. Whakatairanga Tuatahi

Proper calibration is essential for accurate stud detection. Calibrate the device on the wall where you intend to scan.

  1. Place the device flat against the wall in the desired scanning area. Ensure there are no studs, dense materials, or live AC wires directly beneath the device at the calibration point.
  2. Press and hold the Power button located on the side of the device.
  3. Wait for the device to emit a beep and for all LED lights to flash briefly, then turn off. This indicates successful calibration.
  4. Keep the Power button pressed throughout the scanning process. Re-calibrate if you lift the device from the wall or move to a different scanning area.

Aratau Mahi

The Zircon Pro 45 Stud Sensor features two primary scanning modes:

1. Stud Scan Mode

This mode is designed for locating the edges of wood and metal studs up to 3/4 inch (19 mm) deep. It is suitable for most standard drywall applications.

  • Use for standard stud detection.
  • Ideal for drywall, plywood, and other common wall materials.

2. Deep Scan Mode

Deep Scan Mode increases the scanning depth to 1-1/2 inches (38 mm) for detecting studs through thicker materials or multiple layers of drywall.

  • Use when Stud Scan Mode indicates inconsistent results or no studs.
  • Effective for thicker walls or materials like plaster and lath (results may vary).

Hei whiriwhiri aratau: Use the mode switch located on the front of the device. Slide it to the desired position (Stud Scan or Deep Scan).

Mahi

Tikanga Matawai

  1. Whakatikatika: As described in the Setup section, place the device flat against the wall and press the Power button to calibrate.
  2. Matawai: While holding the Power button, slowly slide the device horizontally across the wall surface. Keep the device flat against the wall and do not tilt or lift it.
  3. Detect Stud Edge: As the device moves over a stud edge, the LED indicators will progressively light up. When the center LED illuminates and the SpotLite Pointing System shines a beam of light on the wall, you have located the edge of a stud. The device will also emit an audible tone.
  4. Mark Edge: Mark this point on the wall.
  5. Find Second Edge: Continue scanning past the first edge until the LEDs turn off. Then, reverse direction and scan back towards the marked point. Mark the second edge of the stud when the center LED and SpotLite activate again.
  6. Manatoko: To confirm the stud location, scan the area from both directions. The marks should be approximately 1-1/2 inches (38 mm) apart for a standard stud.

Aki: For best results, hold the device firmly but gently, and move it slowly and consistently across the surface.

SpotLite Pointing System

The SpotLite Pointing System projects a beam of light onto the wall when the device detects the edge of a stud. This visual indicator works in conjunction with the LED display and audible tone to provide precise location feedback.

WireWarning Detection

The Zircon Pro 45 Stud Sensor continuously monitors for live unshielded AC wiring (120V AC) while scanning in both Stud Scan and Deep Scan modes.

  • When live AC voltage is detected, the WireWarning indicator (a red lightning bolt symbol) will illuminate.
  • This feature is always active.
  • Hiranga: WireWarning detection indicates the presence of live AC voltage. It does not detect unpowered wires or shielded wires. Always turn off the power to the area before working.
