2.1. YoLink Hub Overview
The YoLink Hub is a compact, white, injection-molded plastic device designed for discreet placement. It features LED indicators for power, internet, and function status, along with essential ports for connectivity.

3. Tatūnga
Setting up your YoLink Hub and devices is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to get your smart home system operational.

- Whakahiko: Plug the USB cable and power adapter into a wall outlet and connect to the YoLink Hub. The PWR LED will illuminate.
- Hononga Whatunga:
- Itarangi: Plug the Ethernet cord into the Hub and your router or switch. The Internet LED will illuminate.
- WiFi: If using WiFi, ensure your router supports 2.4 GHz. Follow the in-app instructions to connect the Hub to your WiFi network. The WiFi LED will illuminate.
- App Installation & Device Pairing:
- Download the YoLink app from your smartphone's app store.

- Scan the QR code located on the bottom of the YoLink Hub using the app's QR scanner feature to add the Hub to your account.
- To add other YoLink devices, scan their individual QR codes using the app and follow the pairing instructions. For most devices, you will need to press the 'SET' button on the device to wake it up for pairing.
- Whirihoranga Tuatahi:
- Set your notification preferences within the app.
- Test your newly added devices to ensure they are communicating correctly with the Hub and the app.
4. Operating the YoLink Hub
4.1. Tohu LED
- PWR (Mana): Indicates the power status of the Hub.
- Internet/WiFi: Indicates the internet/WiFi connectivity status.
- FEAT (Feature): Indicates the status of specific features or device activity.
4.2. YoLink App Functionality
The YoLink app provides comprehensive control and monitoring of your smart home system:
- Aroturuki Pūrere: View the status of all connected YoLink devices.
- Nga ruma: Organize your devices into virtual rooms for easy management.
- Alarm Strategies: Configure custom actions and notifications for various events (e.g., water leak, motion detection).
- Third-Party Integrations: Connect with popular platforms like Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT for expanded control and automation possibilities.
4.3. Device-to-Device (D2D) Pairing (Fail-Safe)
YoLink's patented D2D pairing allows two or more devices to communicate directly with each other, even if your internet or power is down. This ensures critical functions, like a water leak sensor activating a siren, remain operational.

To Pair Devices (D2D):
- On the first device (e.g., Water Leak Sensor), press and hold the 'SET' button for 5-10 seconds until the green LED flashes.
- On the second device (e.g., Siren Alarm), press and hold its 'SET' button for 5-10 seconds until its green LED flashes.
- The devices will automatically pair, and their LEDs will stop flashing.
To Unpair Devices (D2D):
- On the first device, press and hold the 'SET' button for 10 seconds until the red LED flashes.
- On the second device, press and hold its 'SET' button for 10 seconds until its red LED flashes.
- Wait until both devices' lights go out, indicating they are unpaired.
4.4. Notification Options
YoLink offers multiple ways to receive alerts and notifications:
