2. Nga korero haumaru
Please observe the following safety precautions to prevent electric shock, fire, or damage to the unit:

4. Tatūnga
Follow these steps to set up your PROEL S12A Subwoofer:
- Turanga: Position the subwoofer on a stable, flat surface. For optimal bass response, consider placing it near a wall or in a corner, but avoid direct corners if bass becomes boomy.
- Hononga Hiko: Ensure the subwoofer's power switch is in the "OFF" position. Connect the supplied power cable to the AC inlet on the rear panel and then to a grounded electrical outlet.
- Tāuru Ororongo: Connect your audio source (e.g., mixer, audio interface) to the "INPUT" Combo XLR/Jack connectors on the rear panel. Use high-quality balanced XLR or 1/4-inch TRS cables for best results.
- Putanga Ororongo (Whiringa):
- Hononga Atu: Use the "LINK OUT" XLR connectors to daisy-chain the audio signal to another S12A subwoofer or another full-range speaker.
- Raina Atu: Use the "LINE OUT" XLR connectors to send the processed signal (with high-pass filter applied if active) to satellite full-range speakers.
- Pole Mount (Optional): If using the subwoofer with a satellite speaker, insert a standard 36mm speaker pole into the top-mounted socket on the S12A. Ensure the pole is securely seated and the satellite speaker is properly mounted.
5. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere
Once the subwoofer is set up, follow these steps for operation:
- Whakahiko: Turn on your audio source (mixer, etc.) first, then switch the power button on the PROEL S12A to the "ON" position.
- Mana Rōrahi: Start with the "LEVEL" knob on the subwoofer set to its minimum position. Gradually increase the level to achieve the desired bass output.
- Auautanga Whakawhiti: The S12A features a switchable high-pass filter. Select between 100 Hz or 160 Hz depending on your system's requirements and the frequency response of your full-range speakers.
- 100Hz: Suitable for most general applications, providing a smooth transition to full-range speakers.
- 160Hz: May be used with smaller full-range speakers that require more low-frequency support.
- Whakaritenga Wāhanga: Use the "PHASE" switch to select between 0° a 180°. This control helps align the phase of the subwoofer with your main speakers. Listen to the system with both settings and choose the one that provides the most coherent and impactful bass response. Often, the correct phase results in a fuller, more defined low end.
- System Balance: Adjust the subwoofer's level in conjunction with your main speakers to achieve a balanced sound. The subwoofer should augment the low end without overpowering the rest of the audio spectrum.
- Weto Whakakore: Before disconnecting power, turn the subwoofer's level down, then switch the power button to "OFF". Finally, turn off your audio source.
