Initial Printer Setup

The printer comes with a 'Start Here Installation Guide' that provides specific instructions for initial setup. This guide covers the physical installation of the printer and directs users to software installation procedures. For comprehensive details, refer to the 'User's Guide' provided on disk.

Ink Filling Procedure

The ET-2650 utilizes an EcoTank system, requiring ink to be poured into designated tanks. Follow these steps for initial ink charging:

  1. Carefully open the ink tank cover on the printer.
  2. Open the cap of the corresponding ink bottle.
  3. Pour the ink from the bottle into the correct, clearly marked ink tank. Ensure no spillage occurs, as ink can stain.
  4. Recap the ink tank securely.
  5. Repeat this process for all four color ink tanks.
  6. After filling, the printer will initiate an 'ink charging' process to fill its internal plumbing. This prepares the printer for use.

The printer includes enough ink bottles for the initial fill. Always use genuine Epson ink for optimal performance and to prevent damage.

Te Whakapai i te Upoko

To maintain print quality and prevent issues like spotty or poor output, regular print head cleaning is recommended. Perform a nozzle check periodically. If any segments are missing on the nozzle check pattern, run the print head cleaning utility. This process may need to be repeated several times to clear clogs effectively. It is advisable to perform a cleaning if the printer has not been used for a while or before a large print job.

Te Whakakī Anō i te Waituhi

When ink levels are low, refill the tanks using genuine Epson replacement ink bottles. The refilling process is similar to the initial ink charging: open the tank cap, pour in the new ink until the desired level is reached, and then recap. After refilling, you must inform the printer via its control panel which tanks have been refilled, as it does not automatically detect ink levels.
