3. Tatūnga
3.1 Whakakaha i te Waeine Matua
The main unit can be powered by the included power adapter or by batteries (not included).
- Te whakamahi i te Pūurutau Hiko: Insert the small end of the power adapter into the DC IN port on the back of the main unit. Plug the other end into a standard electrical outlet. The display will illuminate.
- Whakamahi Pūhiko: Open the battery compartment on the back of the main unit. Insert 3 x AAA batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings (+/-). Close the compartment. The display will illuminate.
Note: Using the power adapter is recommended for continuous display illumination. Batteries provide backup power or portable operation.

The outdoor sensor requires 2 x AA batteries (not included).

- If the outdoor readings do not appear, press and hold the "CHANNEL" or "SEARCH" button (refer to specific button labels on your unit) on the main unit to initiate a manual search for the sensor.
- Ensure the outdoor sensor is within the wireless transmission range (up to 70 meters / 230 feet) and away from major sources of interference.

The main unit's color display provides the following information:
