1. Kupu Whakataki
Welcome to the Nespresso Citiz & Milk Espresso Machine user manual. This document provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new Nespresso machine. The Citiz & Milk machine combines modern design with functionality, allowing you to prepare a variety of espresso and milk-based coffee recipes.
2. Nga Tohutohu Haumaru Nui
Please read all instructions before using the appliance to prevent the risk of fire, electric shock, injury to persons, or damage to the machine.
- Haumaru Hiko: Me whakarite te voltage specified on the appliance matches your mains voltage. Do not immerse the appliance, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
- Mata wera: The machine surfaces can become hot during operation. Avoid contact with hot parts.
- Tamariki: Ko tenei taputapu ehara i te mea mo nga tamariki. Tiakina te taputapu me tana taura kia kore e taea e nga tamariki.
- Tiaki: Do not attempt to repair or disassemble the machine. Contact Nespresso Club Services for assistance.
- Tāke Wai: Only fill the water tank with fresh, potable water. Do not use milk or other liquids.
3. Hua Neke Atuview
The Nespresso Citiz & Milk machine is designed for convenience and quality. It features a compact design and an integrated Aeroccino milk frother.

4. Tatūnga
4.1 Te Wetewete
Carefully remove the machine from its packaging. Ensure all components are present: Nespresso Citiz & Milk machine, welcome pack of 16 Nespresso Grand Cru capsules, user manual, and information folder.
4.2 Te Whakanoho i te Miihini
Place the machine on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from water splashes and heat sources. Ensure adequate space around the machine for ventilation and access to the water tank.
4.3 Whakaki i te Taaka Wai
- Tangohia te tank wai mai i muri o te miihini.
- Fill the tank with fresh, potable water up to the 'MAX' level.
- Place the water tank back onto the machine.
4.4 Horoi Tuatahi
Before first use, or after a long period of non-use, perform an initial rinse to clean the system:
- Monohia te mihini ki roto i te putanga hiko kua oti te tu.
- Press either the Espresso or Lungo button to turn on the machine. The buttons will flash while heating up (approx. 25 seconds).
- Place a container (at least 20 oz.) under the coffee outlet.
- Press the Lungo button. Water will flow through the system. Repeat this process 2-3 times until clear water comes out.
5. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere
5.1 Brewing Espresso or Lungo
- Me whakarite kia whakakiia te puna wai.
- Turn on the machine by pressing either the Espresso or Lungo button. Wait for the buttons to stop flashing, indicating the machine is ready.
- Lift the lever completely and insert a Nespresso Original Line capsule.
- Katia te rīpene kia mau.
- Place a cup under the coffee outlet. Adjust the drip tray if needed for larger cups.
- Pehia te Pātene pēhikawhero for a small cup (approx. 1.35 oz) or the Patene Lungo for a larger cup (approx. 3.7 oz). The machine will automatically stop when the selected volume is reached.
- I muri i te hanga pia, hapainga te rīwhi hei pana i te kāpūru kua whakamahia ki roto i te ipu.
5.2 Using the Aeroccino Milk Frother
The integrated Aeroccino allows you to prepare hot or cold milk froth for your coffee recipes.
- Ensure the Aeroccino is clean and dry.
- Pour fresh, cold milk into the frother. Observe the 'MAX' fill lines inside the frother for milk froth (lower line) or hot milk (upper line).
- Place the lid on the Aeroccino.
- Press the button on the Aeroccino:
- Mo hot milk froth, press briefly (red light).
- Mo cold milk froth, press and hold for 2 seconds (blue light).
- Ka mutu aunoa te pahuka ina rite te miraka.
- Pour the frothed milk into your prepared espresso.
6. Tiaki
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Nespresso machine.
6.1 Whakapai ia ra
- Paepae maturuturu me te Ipu Kāpūru kua whakamahia: Empty and rinse daily. Wash with warm water and a mild detergent.
- Tāke Wai: Horoia te tāke wai i ia rā ki te wai māori.
- Whare Kawhe: Horoia te putanga kawhe ki te pānuitangaamp kakahu.
6.2 Aeroccino Cleaning
Clean the Aeroccino immediately after each use to prevent milk residue from drying.
- Unplug the Aeroccino from its base.
- Remove the whisk.
- Wash the inside of the frother, the lid, and the whisk with warm water and a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive materials.

6.3 Whakaheke
Descale your machine regularly (every 3-6 months, depending on water hardness and usage) to remove mineral buildup. Use a Nespresso descaling kit and follow the instructions provided with the kit.
