5. Tatūnga

5.1 Required Components:

  • Constant Current LED Driver: Essential for providing the correct current (600mA-700mA) and voltage (3.0V-3.4V) to the LED chip. Using a constant voltage supply without a current limiting resistor or driver will damage the LED.
  • Heat Sink System: A heat sink is mandatory to dissipate heat generated by the LED chip and ensure its longevity.
  • Thermal Paste/Adhesive: To ensure efficient heat transfer between the LED chip and the heat sink.
  • Waea waea: Appropriate gauge wires for electrical connections.

5.2 Nga Waahi Whakataunga:

  1. Prepare Heat Sink: Apply a thin, even layer of thermal paste or adhesive to the contact surface of the heat sink.
  2. Mount LED Chip: Carefully place the LED chip onto the prepared heat sink, ensuring good contact. Secure it if necessary (e.g., with screws if the heat sink has mounting points, or using thermal adhesive).
  3. Tūhono Waea: Identify the Anode (+) and Cathode (-) terminals on the LED chip. Connect the positive output of your constant current LED driver to the Anode (+) terminal and the negative output to the Cathode (-) terminal.
  4. Manatoko Hononga: Double-check all electrical connections for correct polarity and secure contact.
  5. Whakahiko: Once all connections are secure and verified, connect the LED driver to its power source.

5.3 Recommended Accessories:

  • Constant current LED drivers (600mA Plastic Case)
  • Constant current LED drivers (600mA Aluminum Case Waterproof)
  • Constant current LED drivers (600mA No Case only PCB Board)
  • LED Heat Sink Star Aluminum Base Plate

6. Mahi

Once properly installed with a constant current driver and heat sink, the LED chip will illuminate when power is supplied to the driver. Ensure the operating environment allows for adequate airflow around the heat sink to maintain optimal temperature.

  • Optimal Current: Operate the LED chip within the recommended current range of 600mA to 700mA for best performance and lifespan.
  • Te aro turuki i te pāmahana: Periodically check the temperature of the heat sink. If it feels excessively hot to the touch, improve the cooling system.

7. Tiaki

The CHANZON 3W White LED Chip requires minimal maintenance. Regular checks can help ensure its long-term performance.

  • Te horoi: Keep the LED chip and heat sink free from dust and debris. A soft, dry cloth can be used for cleaning. Ensure the power is disconnected before cleaning.
  • Heat Sink Inspection: Periodically inspect the heat sink for any obstructions to airflow or signs of corrosion.
  • Taki Hononga: Me whakarite kia noho haumaru nga hononga hiko katoa me te kore e waikura.

8. Te Raru

8.1 LED Not Lighting Up:

  • Takina Whakarato Hiko: Ensure the constant current LED driver is receiving power and is functioning correctly.
  • Manatoko Polarity: Confirm that the LED chip is connected with the correct positive (+) and negative (-) polarity.
  • Tirotiro Hononga: Check for loose or faulty wiring connections between the driver and the LED chip.
  • Hototahi Atekōkiri: Ensure the LED driver's output specifications (current and voltage) match the LED chip's requirements.

8.2 LED Flickering or Dim:

  • Power Supply Instability: The constant current driver might be faulty or receiving an unstable input voltage.
  • Te wera nui: Insufficient heat dissipation can cause the LED to dim or flicker as a protective measure. Ensure the heat sink is adequate and properly installed.
  • Current Fluctuation: The driver might not be supplying a stable constant current.

8.3 Reduced Lifespan:

  • Te wera nui: The most common cause of reduced LED lifespan. Always ensure the LED operates below 60°C (140°F) with an effective heat sink.
  • Awa nui: Operating the LED above its recommended current will significantly shorten its life.
  • Voltage Tiki: Unstable power supply with voltage spikes can degrade the LED over time.
