3.1. Ngā Āhuatanga o te Wāhanga Matua

4. Tatūnga

Follow these steps to prepare your Hurricane 1600 for operation.

  1. Turanga: Position the fog machine on a flat, stable surface in a well-ventilated area. Ensure the fog output is directed away from people and sensitive equipment. Allow at least 20 inches (50 cm) of clear space around the unit for proper airflow.
  2. Whakakīia te Tāke Wai: Unscrew the cap of the fluid tank and carefully pour CHAUVET DJ-approved water-based fog fluid into the tank. Do not overfill. Securely replace the cap.
  3. Tūhono Mamao: Plug the FC-T wired remote control into the 'REMOTE' input port on the rear panel of the fog machine.
  4. Hono Hono: Ensure the fog machine's power switch is in the 'OFF' position. Connect the power cord to the unit's power input and then to a grounded power outlet.

5. Mahi

Once set up, the Hurricane 1600 is ready for use.

  1. Whakahiko: Flip the power switch on the rear panel of the fog machine to the 'ON' position. The unit will begin its heat-up cycle.
  2. Heat-Up Indicator: Observe the LED indicators inside the fluid tank. A red light typically indicates the unit is heating. Once the unit reaches operating temperature, the light will change (e.g., to blue or off, depending on the specific model's indicator system) to signal it is ready to produce fog. The 'Always Ready' technology minimizes reheat time between fog bursts.
  3. Priming (Initial Use): For the first use or after extended storage, the pump may need priming. Once the unit is ready (blue light), press the 'Continuous' or 'Manual' button on the remote for several seconds until fog begins to emit. If no fog appears, gently tilt the machine side-to-side by about 45 degrees while pressing the fog button to help prime the pump. Repeat if necessary.

    • Manual Fog: Press and hold the 'Manual' button on the FC-T remote to produce fog. Release the button to stop.
    • Kohu Tonu: Press the 'Continuous' button for uninterrupted fog output. Press again to stop.
    • Timed Fog: Press the 'Timer' button. Use the 'Interval' knob to set the delay between fog bursts and the 'Duration' knob to set the length of each burst. Press 'Timer' again to deactivate.
  5. Weto-Aunoa: The Hurricane 1600 is equipped with an advanced fluid sensor. If the fluid level in the tank becomes too low, the pump will automatically shut off to prevent damage. Refill the tank to resume operation.
  6. Weto Whakakore: When finished, turn the power switch on the rear panel to 'OFF' and disconnect the unit from the power source.
