Welcome to the Wampler Ego Compressor V2 user manual. This document provides essential information for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Wampler Ego Compressor V2 guitar effects pedal. The Ego Compressor V2 is designed to offer versatile compression, from subtle sustain to pronounced dynamic shaping, while preserving your instrument's natural tone.
2. Hua Neke Atuview
Ko te Wampler Ego Compressor V2 is a high-quality guitar effects pedal engineered to provide dynamic control over your guitar signal. It features a unique blend control that allows for parallel compression, integrating your dry signal with the compressed signal.
2.1. Mana me nga ahuatanga

He taipitopito view o te Wampler Ego Compressor V2 pedal, showcasing its blue metallic finish, five white control knobs (Sustain, Tone, Attack, Volume, Blend), a bright blue LED indicator, and a silver footswitch. The power input is visible at the top, indicating 9-18V DC compatibility. The Wampler logo is prominently displayed at the bottom.
Whakaahuatanga Mana:
- Tautoko: Adjusts the amount of compression and sustain.
- Oro: Shapes the high-frequency response of the compressed signal.
- Whakaeke: Controls how quickly the compressor reacts to the initial signal.
- Rōrahi: Sets the overall output level of the pedal.
- Whakaranu: Mixes the dry, uncompressed signal with the compressed signal. This allows for parallel compression, preserving natural dynamics while adding sustain.
Āhuatanga matua:
- Advanced dynamic control for guitar signals.
- Blend knob for parallel compression.
- Designed to maintain playing dynamics without altering tone.
- Versatile for various compression styles, from subtle to pronounced.
- Suitable for "always on" use or as a specific effect.
3. Tatūnga
3.1. Nga Whakaritenga Mana
Ko te Wampler Ego Compressor V2 requires a 9V-18V DC power supply (center negative). It can also be powered by a 9V battery. Ensure the power supply meets these specifications to prevent damage.
3.2. Te hono i te Pedal
- Connect your guitar to the pedal's input jack.
- Tūhonohia te kōti putanga o te hikoi ki tō ampte kaiwhakarewa, te hikoi e whai ake nei i roto i to mekameka tohu.
- Connect the appropriate power supply to the DC input.
- Me whakarite kia mau nga hononga katoa i mua i te whakakaha.
4. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere
To activate the Wampler Ego Compressor V2, press the footswitch. The LED indicator will illuminate when the pedal is active.
4.1. Mahi Taketake
- Start with all knobs at their 12 o'clock position.
- Whakaritea te Tautoko knob to increase or decrease the compression level. Higher settings provide more sustain.
- Whakamahia te whakaeke knob to control the compressor's response time. A faster attack (counter-clockwise) will compress the initial transient more quickly, while a slower attack (clockwise) allows more of the initial pick attack to pass through.
- Ko te Tone knob allows you to fine-tune the high-frequency content of the compressed signal.
- Whakaritea te Rōrahi knob to match the output level of the pedal to your bypassed signal or to provide a slight boost.
- Ko te Whakaranu knob is crucial for mixing your dry signal with the compressed signal. Turning it clockwise increases the amount of compressed signal, while counter-clockwise increases the dry signal. This allows for transparent compression without losing dynamic feel.
4.2. Tips for Optimal Use
- For subtle, "always-on" compression, set Sustain and Attack moderately, and use the Blend knob to mix in a significant portion of your dry signal.
- For pronounced country "chicken-pickin'" tones, increase Sustain, set Attack to a faster response, and adjust Blend to taste.
- Experiment with the Tone knob to brighten or darken the compressed sound, especially when using higher Sustain settings.
5. Tiaki
Ko te Wampler Ego Compressor V2 is a robust pedal designed for durability.
- Keep the pedal clean and free from dust and debris.
- Avoid exposing the pedal to extreme temperatures or moisture.
- When not in use for extended periods, disconnect the power supply.
- If using a battery, remove it when the pedal is not in use to prevent leakage.
- Use only approved 9V-18V DC center-negative power supplies.
6. Te Raru
6.1. Karekau he Oro
- Tirohia nga hononga taura katoa (whakauru, putanga, hiko).
- Me whakarite kia tika te hononga o te pūhiko, ā, kia tika hoki te rerenga hiko e tukuna anatage (9V-18V DC, center negative).
- Verify the guitar and ampKei te tika te mahi a te kaipatu.
- Check if the pedal is engaged (LED illuminated).
6.2. Excessive Noise/Hum
- Me whakarite kei te whakamahi koe i tētahi pūtake hiko kounga teitei, motuhake.
- Tirohia mo nga koropiko whenua i roto i to mekameka tohu.
- Try the pedal in a different power outlet or location.
- Reduce high gain settings on your amphe kaiwhakarewa, etahi atu hikoi ranei.
6.3. Inconsistent Compression
- Review the settings of the Sustain, Attack, and Blend knobs.
- Ensure your guitar's output is consistent.
- Tirohia mo nga hononga wetewete.
