2.2. Te Whakaweto i te Mataaratanga

The SuperOcean Heritage A1732024/B868 is an automatic-self-wind movement watch. It is powered by the motion of your wrist. If the watch has stopped or has not been worn for an extended period, it may require manual winding:

  1. Unscrew the crown (if applicable) to position 0.
  2. Turn the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will provide sufficient power reserve to start the movement.
  3. Ka haere tonu te mātaaratanga ki te takai i a ia anō ahakoa te mau noa.

2.3. Tautuhi Wā me te Rā

Hei tautuhi i te waa me te ra:

  1. Unscrew the crown (if applicable) and pull it out to position 1 (first click) to set the date. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise until the correct date is displayed.
  2. Pull the crown out to position 2 (second click) to set the time. The seconds hand will stop. Turn the crown to move the hour and minute hands to the desired time. Ensure you differentiate between AM and PM when setting the date.
  3. Once set, push the crown back into position 0 and screw it down firmly to ensure water resistance.

3. Te Mahi i te Mataara

3.1. Atete Wai

Your Breitling SuperOcean Heritage watch is water-resistant to 200 meters (660 feet). This rating makes it suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports, but not for saturation diving. Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before exposing the watch to water.

3.2. Mata hurihuri kotahi-angi

The watch features a unidirectional rotating bezel, designed for timing events, particularly dive times. To use:

  1. Rotate the bezel counter-clockwise until the zero marker aligns with the minute hand.
  2. The minute hand will then indicate the elapsed time on the bezel's scale.
  3. The unidirectional rotation prevents accidental increases in elapsed time, a critical safety feature for divers.

4. Tiaki

4.1. Te horoi

Hei pupuri i te ahua o to mataaratanga:

4.2. Ratonga

Breitling recommends regular servicing by an authorized service center every 3-5 years to ensure the watch's accuracy and water resistance. This includes checking the movement, replacing seals, and cleaning the case and bracelet.

4.3. Rokiroki

When not wearing your watch, store it in its original box or a watch winder to protect it from dust, moisture, and impacts. Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures or strong magnetic fields.

5. Te Raru

5.1. Watch Not Running

If your automatic watch has stopped, it likely needs to be wound. Refer to section 2.2 for manual winding instructions. If the watch still does not run after winding, it may require professional servicing.

5.2. Condensation Under Crystal

If you notice condensation under the crystal, it indicates a potential breach in water resistance. Immediately take the watch to an authorized service center to prevent further damage to the movement.

5.3. Date Not Changing Correctly

Ensure the time is set correctly, especially differentiating between AM and PM. The date typically changes around midnight. If the date mechanism is faulty, professional inspection is recommended.
