Installing your new Casio G-2900F-1 watch band requires careful handling of the spring-loaded hinge pins. The replacement band does kaore include new pins; you must reuse the original pins from your watch.

  • Small, thin flat-head screwdriver or a spring bar tool.
  • Soft cloth or surface to protect your watch.

2.2 Removing the Old Watch Band

  1. Place your watch face down on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches.
  2. Locate the spring-loaded hinge pin connecting the watch band to the watch case. These pins are typically found at the lugs where the band meets the watch.
  3. Using a thin flat-head screwdriver or spring bar tool, gently insert the tip between the watch band and the watch case, near one end of the hinge pin.
  4. Apply slight pressure to compress the spring-loaded pin. You will feel it retract.
  5. Once one end of the pin is compressed and free from its socket, carefully wiggle the band to release the other end of the pin from its socket.
  6. Remove the old band section and set aside the hinge pin. Repeat for the other side of the watch band.
  7. Hiranga: Do not discard the old hinge pins, as they are required for installing the new band.

2.3 Installing the New Watch Band

  1. Take one section of the new watch band and insert one of the saved hinge pins through the channel at its end. Ensure the pin is centered within the channel.
  2. Position one end of the hinge pin into its corresponding socket on the watch case.
  3. Using your screwdriver, spring bar tool, or even your thumbnail, compress the other end of the hinge pin.
  4. While compressed, guide the pin into its socket on the watch case.
  5. Once the pin is seated, gently tug on the band to ensure it is securely attached and the pins are fully engaged in their sockets.
  6. Repeat this process for the second section of the watch band.

3. Operating (Wearing and Adjustment)

Once installed, the watch band operates like any standard buckle-closure watch strap.

  • Whakamau: Insert the free end of the band through the buckle and secure the pin into one of the adjustment holes.
  • Whakatikatika: Select the hole that provides a comfortable yet secure fit on your wrist. The band should not be too tight to restrict circulation, nor too loose to allow the watch to slide freely.
  • Strap Keeper: Use the movable strap keeper to secure any excess band length.
