1. Hua Neke Atuview

Rust-Oleum Universal Paint and Primer in One is an all-surface paint designed for both interior and exterior applications. It offers long-lasting protection and durability. The product features a comfort grip trigger delivery system to reduce finger fatigue during continuous spraying and an any-angle spray capability, allowing application even upside down. This oil-based formula protects surfaces from environmental elements, rust, and corrosion.

2. Tatūnga me te Whakaritenga

2.1 Required Materials:

  • Rust-Oleum Universal All Surface Spray Paint
  • Drop cloth or newspaper
  • Kaka-kore he kakahu
  • Kaahu tiaki kanohi
  • Nga karapu
  • Sandpaper (if surface requires smoothing)
  • Painter's tape (for masking areas)

2.2 Te Whakarite i te Mata:

  1. Horoia te Mata: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of loose paint, rust, wax, oil, and grease. Use a lint-free cloth for cleaning.
  2. Sand if Necessary: Lightly sand glossy surfaces or rough areas to create a profile for better adhesion. Wipe away sanding dust.
  3. Mask Areas: Use painter's tape to mask off any areas you do not wish to paint.
  4. Protect Surroundings: Lay down a drop cloth or newspaper to protect the surrounding area from overspray.

3. Nga Tohutohu Whakahaere

3.1 Using the Spray Can:

  1. Ruru pai: Shake the can vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Continue to shake occasionally during use.
  2. Rehu Whakamatau: Test spray on a piece of cardboard or an inconspicuous area to check spray pattern and color.
  3. Taupānga: Hold the can upright 8-12 inches from the surface. Press the comfort grip trigger firmly and spray in a steady, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. For best results, apply two or more light coats a few minutes apart rather than one heavy coat.
  4. Any-Angle Spray: The unique comfort grip trigger allows for spraying at any angle, including upside down, for maximum coverage and ease of use.
  5. Wā whakamaroke: Dries to the touch in 30 minutes. Allow more time in cooler temperatures.

3.2 Finish Guide:

Rust-Oleum Universal offers various finishes. The current product is Satin Black, providing a low-sheen look. Other finishes include Metallic (high shine, sparkling colors), Matte Metallic (low shine, brushed look), Hammered (hand-hammered look), Forged Hammered (hand-crafted texture), and Clear Topcoats.

4. Tiaki

4.1 Cleaning the Nozzle:

After each use, invert the can and spray until only clear gas comes out. This prevents clogging of the nozzle for future use.

4.2 Rokiroki:

Store the can in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area. Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flame. Do not store in direct sunlight or where temperatures exceed 120°F (49°C).

5. Te Raru

5.1 Uneven Spray or Clogging:

  • Ensure the can is shaken thoroughly before and during use.
  • Clean the nozzle after each use by inverting the can and spraying until clear gas appears.
  • If the nozzle is clogged, remove it and clean with mineral spirits. Do not insert pins or other objects into the stem. Replace the nozzle firmly with the opening pointing away from you.

  • Whakahau: Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Ensure fresh air entry during application and drying.
  • Parenga Whaiaro: Wear protective eyewear and gloves to prevent contact with skin and eyes. Avoid breathing vapors or spray mist.
  • Te mura o te ahi: Contents are extremely flammable. Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames, and other ignition sources. Do not smoke while using.
  • Pēhanga: Contents under pressure. Do not puncture or incinerate container.
  • Kaua e toro atu: Kaua e taea e nga tamariki me nga kararehe.
