Product Description

This document provides instructions for the Master Lock 5400D Shackle Model, a key storage lock box designed for secure key access. It features a durable metal body, a combination lock, and a shutter door to protect the dials. The shackle model allows the lock box to be attached to a doorknob or other secure location.

Instructions: Opening the Key Storage Compartment Door

1. Open the shutter door to reveal the combination dials and the release button.
2. Rotate the dials to the current combination. If the lock is new, the factory default combination is 0-0-0-0.
3. Press down on the release button to open the compartment door.
4. Pull the door fully open.
5. Add or remove keys as needed.
6. Close the compartment door.
7. Scramble the combination dials to lock the door and conceal your combination (A).
8. Close the shutter door (B).

Instructions: To Set a New Combination

The initial combination is set at the factory to 0-0-0-0.

1. Open the compartment door (refer to the opening instructions above).
2. Push the reset lever to the left and down. The lever will remain in this position.
3. Rotate the dials to set your desired new combination.
4. Push the reset lever up and to the right, returning it to its original position.
5. Close the key storage compartment door.
6. Scramble the combination dials to lock the door and conceal your new combination (A).
7. Close the shutter door (B).

Instructions: To Hang Shackle Model

1. Open the compartment door (refer to the opening instructions above).
2. Push the shackle release lever to the left to open the shackle.
3. Pull the shackle up and out of the lock mechanism.
4. Place the shackle around a doorknob or other suitable object.
5. Close the shackle to lock it in place.
6. Close the compartment door.
7. Scramble the combination dials to lock the door and conceal your combination (A).
8. Close the shutter door (B).

Important Reminders

(A) Release Button: The release button will open the lock until the combination dials are scrambled.

(B) Shutter Door: Keep the shutter door closed to enhance weather resistance and to keep the combination dials concealed from view.
