How do I ensure clear audio when I use my headset with my desk phone?
To ensure clear audio, configure the Dial Tone Switch, microphone position, and microphone volume properly. For specific instructions, refer to the Quick Start Guide or user manual for your Jabra device.
Adjust the Dial Tone Switch
Set the Dial Tone Switch to match your phone. You can verify the correct settings for your desk phone using the Jabra Compatibility Guide. The following settings for the Dial Tone Switch* are generally effective:
- Switch A: Avaya and most other phones
- Switch B: Cisco, Avaya Callmaster 5 and 6
- Switch C: Kirk Delta
- Switch D: Tenovis
- Switch E: Innovaphone
- Switch F: Other phones
- Switch G: Toshiba (most models), Dealerboards (most models including IPC and BT)
*Switch options may vary depending on the product.
Position the Microphone
Ensure the microphone is positioned close to your mouth to maximize speech quality and the effectiveness of noise-cancelling capabilities. If the microphone arm is long enough, position it approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) from your mouth.
Set Microphone Volume
The volume level of the headset microphone should approximately match the audio level of your desk phone. Use the Microphone Volume Control switch on the base to adjust the volume up or down as needed.
