Safety
- Never try to open, repair, dismantle or modify the product in any way.
- Never expose the product to high temperatures, water or moisture.
- The product must only be connected to the mains adapter supplied with it.
- Never use the product if the product, the mains lead or the plug is damaged or not functioning normally.
- Put the product in a position where there is no risk of people tripping over its mains lead.
- The mains adapter is used to disconnect the power supply to the photo frame and must be easily accessible.
Frameo App
Use the Frameo app for iOS or Android to send photos to your frame. Download the Frameo app by scanning the QR code (Note: QR code functionality is not supported in this HTML output, please search manually).
For Android: Search for "Frameo" in Google Play.
For iOS: Search for "Frameo" in the App Store.
Getting Started
When you start your frame for the first time, you must configure it:
- Choose a language. These are the languages used in the Frameo app.
- Connect your frame to a Wi-Fi network.
- Check and correct the date and time.
- Frameo may ask you to update to the latest version. It is recommended to update your frame if prompted before continuing.
- Enter your name and the location of your frame (e.g., "John Smith" and "lounge", "kitchen" or "office"). Finally, enter the time zone if the existing time zone is not correct.
The next step is to connect Frameo to your friends and family by giving them a code from your frame. Send your photos to the frame by downloading the app for iOS or Android from the App Store or Google Play. Then use the code to connect your frame and app as described below.
Product Description
The frame has the following components:
- 1. Standby button: Press to switch the frame off.
- 2. USB: Use to connect to a PC (sold separately).
- 3. Reset: Use a nail or a paper clip to reset the device.
- 4. MicroSD: Slot for microSD card.
- 5. DC: Connect the mains adapter provided.
Menus and Functions
Swipe left or right to browse through your photos. Tap the screen once to open the menu.
Main Menu Options:
- Add a friend: Generates a code that you can share with your friends and family to allow them to connect and send photos to your frame via the Frameo app.
- Settings: Opens settings.
- Power menu: Switch off, Restart, Standby mode.
- Reactions: Opens the Reactions menu. Reactions can also be accessed by double tapping the screen.
- Hide photo: Hides the current photo. This means the photo will no longer appear in the slideshow. The photo can be retrieved via the Settings menu, if necessary.
- Gallery: Opens a gallery that allows simple, fast navigation through your photos.
- Adapt to frame/fill frame: Toggle between adapting the photo to the frame or filling the frame and scaling the photo.
- Adjust photo: Rotate the photo or enter/edit a caption. Captions from photos imported from a memory card can be edited from the Frameo frame, but photos sent from the Frameo app can only be edited using the app.
Adding a Friend:
- Tap [button] and a code will be displayed. The code is valid for 12 hours. If the code expires, you can create a new one.
- Share the code with your friends and ask them to install the Frameo app. With the app open, ask them to tap [button] and then enter the code they have received.
- Connected friends appear in your frame.
Settings
My frame
- Frame name: Change the name of your frame. Connected friends will see the name in the Frameo app.
- Frame location: Change the location name of your frame. This is the location shown on your friends' lists of connected frames that can help them to distinguish between one frame and another.
- Set language: Choose any language.
- Weather: Enter the location and temperature units manually.
- Date and time: Enter the date, time, time zone, first day of the week and 24- or 12-hour clock manually.
Managing photos
- Showing stored photos:
- Show/hide photos: Select which photo you want to hide by tapping it. Hidden photos will NOT be deleted from your frame and you can always show them again by tapping them. Tap [button] to hide or show all photos.
- Delete photos: Select which photo you want to permanently delete from your frame by tapping it. Tap [button] to select or deselect all the photos and [button] to remove the selected photos permanently.
- Import photos: Import photos from a microSD card to the frame's internal memory.
- Transfer from computer:
- Activate the function in the menu and then connect the frame to a PC using a micro-USB cable.
- Open the storage space "exibel" on your PC.
- Drag and drop photos and videos to the "DCIM" folder.
- Do not disconnect the frame until the transfer has completed.
- Export photos: Export photos from the frame's internal memory to a microSD card.
- Play photos from external storage: Play photos from a microSD card.
My friends
Display a list of the friends connected to the frame. Tap [button] alongside a friend to open the "Settings for friends" menu. You can allow a friend to share the code to the frame or delete a friend by tapping [delete friend button]. This deletes the friend from your list and cancels their permission to send photos/videos to your frame.
Screen
Adjust the brightness of the frame and set a time for it to go into standby mode.
Slideshow
- Timer: Set how long to show a photo before changing to the next photo.
- Fill frame: Specify whether the photos are to fill the frame or be shown with background.
- Frame background: Select blurred, black or colored gradient background.
- Photo display order: Sort according to: "By date", "By Date taken" or "Shuffle".
- Reverse photo display order: Select which sequence photos are to be displayed in: newest to oldest or vice versa.
- Slideshow widgets: Select whether you want to show or hide the following: "caption", "clock" and "weather".
Video
Change the following settings for video playback:
- "Auto play" on/off
- "Video playback" repeat, play once or play once and continue.
- "Auto mute" on/off
- "Video volume" change the setting for adjusting the video volume.
Wi-Fi
- Current network: Information about the network connected.
- Available network: Tap to connect to a network.
- Restore Wi-Fi: Tap [menu icon] and [Restore Wi-Fi button] to delete all the Wi-Fi information and restart the frame.
Notifications
Select whether you want to show or switch off all notifications or specific ones. Adjust the notification volume using the slider.
Backup and restore
- Backup frame to external storage (e.g. micro SD card): Tap [backup to external storage button] to make a backup copy of your photos, friends and settings. The time when the last successful backup copy was made is also shown here. Any existing backup copies on the external storage devices will be overwritten!
- Automatic backup: If this is checked, your frame will automatically make a backup copy within 30 hours of receiving new photos or changes being made to your frame.
- Restore from backup: You can only restore one backup copy from a reset screen. To restore a backup copy to this screen, it must be reset first.
- Check that there is a backup copy on the microSD card. See the section "Backup the frame to a microSD card".
- Tap [reset screen button] and then [factory reset button] or [delete frame data button]. The frame will now delete all data.
- When the configuration screen appears, tap [restore from backup button].
- Note: For the old and new frame to work concurrently after a restore from a backup copy, both frames must first be updated to the latest version. It is also a good idea to change the "Name of screen" or "Screen location" to distinguish between the frames.
Reset frame
Tap [clear frame data button] or [factory reset button]. This will permanently delete your photos, friend/connections and settings.
Help
- Guide: Open the quick start guide that appeared when you first started the frame.
- About:
- Hardware brand and model number
- Peer ID: This is a unique ID code for your photo frame. Enter this ID code in your message when you contact Frameo support.
- Frameo version: See which version is installed on the frame.
- Check for updates: Check whether an update is available for your frame.
- Beta program: If this is checked, the device will run the Beta program which receives updates more often and runs devices that are not in the program.
- Third party attributions: Shows active third party programs.
- Share anonymous analysis data: Gathers data to improve the software. Uncheck this to stop sharing anonymous analysis data. Go to http://privacy.frameo.net for more information about privacy.
Power menu
Tap [menu icon] to open the menu and then select from the following options: [switch off button] to completely switch off the frame, [restart button] to restart, [standby mode button] for standby mode.
Note: Make sure that you always use the Off button on the device or in the Power menu to switch off the frame. Never switch off the power when Frameo is running.
Reactions
Double tap the photo you want to react to and select a reaction. The reaction will be sent to the Frameo app's users.
Show/hide photos
Select the photo you want to hide by tapping it. Hidden photos will NOT be deleted from your frame and you can always display them again.
Adapt to frame/fill frame
"Fill frame" is the default option. The photo will be scaled to fill the whole screen. It will be centered around what is chosen as the most important part. "Adapt to frame" shows the whole photo in the frame.
Adjust photo
[rotate button] Rotate the photo. [edit caption button] Edit the caption of an imported photo. Captions of photos sent via the Frameo app can only be edited via the Frameo app, while photos imported via the USB port or memory card can be edited directly in the frame.
Playing Videos
When you play a video, you can use the following controls:
- [play button] Start video playback
- [pause button] Pause
- [volume control button] Open volume control. Use the slider to adjust the volume.
- [mute button] Switch off the sound. Tap [unmute button] to restore the sound.
MicroSD Card
Insert a microSD card (max 128 GB) in the card slot on the back of the screen. A menu will be shown on the screen where you can select one of the following options:
- [show photos button] Show a photo directly from the memory card.
- [import photos button] Import photos from the microSD card to the frame's internal memory. Select photos by tapping them. Selected photos will be marked in grey. Select all photos by tapping [select all button]. Import selected photos by tapping [import selected button].
- [backup button] Tap to make a backup copy of your photos from your frame to a microSD card.
Clock and Weather Widgets
The time and weather are shown in the top right-hand corner of the frame when it has at least one photo. Tap the weather icon to open it for a more detailed weather forecast.
Responsible Disposal
This symbol ♻️ indicates that the product should not be disposed of with general household waste. This applies throughout the entire EU. In order to prevent any harm to the environment or health hazards caused by incorrect waste disposal, the product must be handed in for recycling so that the materials can be disposed of in a responsible way. To recycle the product, take it to your local recycling facility or contact the retailer. They will ensure that the product is disposed of in a way that does not harm the environment.
