Troubleshooting
This chapter describes the most common problems you may encounter with your device. If the following guidance is not sufficient to resolve the problem, contact the Customer Service Center in your country.
Problem | Possible Solution |
Airflow from the outlet is weaker than before. | • The filter surface is dirty. Clean the filter surface (see "Cleaning and Maintenance" chapter). |
Air quality does not improve, even though the device has been running for a long time. | • Check if the filter packaging has been removed. • Check if the filter is installed in the device. • Clean the sensor cover surface with a cloth or vacuum cleaner. Do not open or touch the inside of the sensor cover. • The room is too large or the outdoor air quality is low. To ensure optimal purification performance, doors and windows should be closed while the device is operating. • There are internal sources of air pollution. For example, smoking, cooking, burning incense, or using perfumes or alcohol. • The filter has reached the end of its service life. Replace the filter with a new one. |
Device emits a specific odor. | • Initially, the device may emit a plastic smell. This is normal. • If the device emits a burning smell, unplug the device immediately and turn it upside down to check if foreign objects have entered the device. If not, contact your Philips product dealer or an authorized Philips service center. • An unpleasant odor may be emitted from a filter used for a long time due to absorbed indoor gases. It is recommended to reactivate the filter by placing it in direct sunlight to enable multiple uses. If the filter still emits an odor, replace the filter. |
Device operates very loudly. | • If a high speed is selected, the noise level will be higher. • The device may also emit an unusual loud sound if any foreign object has entered the air outlet. Turn off the device immediately and turn it upside down to remove foreign objects. • If the sound produced by the device is abnormal, contact the Customer Service Center in your country. |
Device still indicates filter replacement is needed, even though the filter has already been replaced. | • The filter life counter may not have been reset. Turn on the device. Press and hold the [Filter Reset Button] for 3 seconds. |
Heating function does not work. | • Check if the air inlet or outlet is blocked. • Check if the filter surface is too dirty and blocking airflow. If so, the heating function may have stopped working for safety. |
