Emerson XCM25D Controller Replacement Guidelines
This document provides instructions for replacing the XCM25D controller on ZX/CF units.
1. Controller Replacement
This manual describes the required working steps to replace an XCM-25D controller in case of damage on a ZX/CF unit.
The spare part kit includes 3 "Hot Keys", one for each unit family: ZXM*/CFM*, ZXL*/CFL*, and ZXD*/CFD*. Choose the correct "Hot Key" based on the unit family, upload parameters from the "Hot Key" to the controller, and adjust values for electrical protection as per the following instructions.
Steps:
- Interrupt the unit's power supply.
- Disconnect the protection connectors and reconnect them to the new controller at the same terminals as before.
- Disconnect all wires from the upper and lower parts of the old controller.
- Open the cover of the cable guidance.
- Cut cable ties and disconnect the grey and brown cables from the compressor contactor.
- Pull out the cables from the controller's current sensors.
- Unlock the 4 controller locks.
- Remove the old controller and mount the new controller in its place.
Visual Description: The document shows two outdoor condensing units. One is taller and narrower, the other is shorter and wider. Both are white with front grilles. The taller unit has a control panel on its side. Both units feature yellow warning labels.
2. Parameter Uploading
This section details how to upload parameters using a "Hot Key".
Steps:
- Choose the correct "Hot Key" based on the unit family.
- Turn the controller off.
- Insert the pre-programmed "Hot Key" into the 5-pin receptacle and turn the controller on.
- The parameter list from the "Hot Key" will be automatically downloaded into the controller memory. The display will show "doL" blinking, followed by a flashing "End" label.
- After approximately 10 seconds, the controller will restart and operate with the new parameters.
- Remove the "Hot Key".
Note: The message "Err" is displayed if the programming operation fails. In this case, turn the unit off and then on again to restart the download, or remove the "Hot Key" to abort the operation.
3. Parameter Setting
Parameters may need to be modified to adjust a specific unit with the proper settings.
For TFD Motor Versions:
Modify parameters H07 and H09. Refer to Tables 1, 2, and 3 for required values.
