Preparation and Assembly Instructions

Estimated Assembly Time: 30 minutes

Tools Required (not included): Pencil, drill, 1/16 in. bit, safety goggles, Phillips screwdriver, tape measure, level.

Helpful Tools (not included): Step stool.

1. Mark the center of the window opening and the center of the blind (A) with a pencil.
2. Hold the top rail of the blind (A) with one hand while pulling the bottom rail of the blind (A) with the other hand until the slats are pulled apart.
3. Slide the mounting brackets (AA) onto each end of the blind (A) headrail. Position the blind (A) in the window, aligning the center marks. Mark the position of the mounting brackets (AA) with a pencil.
4. Remove the mounting brackets (AA) from the blind (A), align with pencil marks, and attach to the window frame or wall using 2 large screws (EE). Pre-drill pilot holes with a 1/16 in. drill bit if needed.
5. If the blind width is 29 inches or larger, slide the center bracket(s) (DD) onto the headrail from the back of the blind (A), positioning it on either side of the middle vertical ladder strings. Temporarily hang the blind (A) by sliding the headrail into the attached mounting brackets (AA). Mark the location of the center bracket(s) (DD) with a pencil. Remove the blind (A).
6. Align the center bracket(s) (DD) with the pencil marks and attach using 2 large screws (EE). Pre-drill pilot holes with a 1/16 in. drill bit if needed.
7. Install the wand (C) by gripping and pulling the wand tilter (located on the left side of the blind (A) headrail) and hooking the wand (C) into the wand tilter.
8. Insert end caps (GG) into each end of the bottom rail.
9. Attach valance clips (FF) to the blind (A) headrail (optional). Hang the blind (A) and snap the locking tabs of the mounting brackets (AA).
10. Optional: Slide the valance (B) onto the valance clips (FF) as needed to center the valance (B).
11. Optional: Attach valance end caps (HH) by inserting them into the ends of the valance (B).
12. Optional: To install hold down brackets (BB), lower the blind (A) to the desired position. Screw the hold down brackets (BB) into the wall or window sill using medium screws (CC) and attach the blind (A) to the hole in the cap on the bottom rail.

Adjusting Blind Length

CAUTION: REMOVAL OF MORE THAN 5 SLATS WILL VOID THE WARRANTY.

To shorten the blind width:

1. Lower the blind (A) to its maximum length. Cut the desired number of bottom-most slats, leaving the bottom rail as is. The blind (A) can be shortened by a maximum of 5 slats (up to 10 inches) without affecting operation.
2. Remove the cut slats.
3. Cut the excess horizontal ladder strings. CAUTION: Do not cut the vertical ladder strings, as this will void the warranty.
4. Remove the plugs from the bottom rail with a flathead screwdriver.
5. Slide the bottom rail up to 1 inch below the newest bottom slat.
6. Twist the cords back into the bottom rail and replace the plugs.

Care and Maintenance

Clean using a damp cloth or vacuum with appropriate attachments or a duster.

For a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase, the manufacturer will replace this window covering if found to be defective in material or workmanship. This warranty does not cover damage or defects caused by improper maintenance, negligent or improper use, abuse, neglect, accidents, acts of God, alteration, commercial use, installation, removal, or reinstallation.
