With the purchase of GasSecure, Dräger has taken further steps in providing futureoriented technology for explosion protection in the oil and gas industry. Moreover, the purchase is an optimal addition to the Dräger portfolio and an important step towards making Dräger a preferred partner for the industry. The combination of Dräger and this young, innovative company also shows that we are aware of our technological pioneering role in gas detection technology, as well as our desire to further strengthen our market position.
The Norwegian company GasSecure AS was founded in 2008 and has its headquarters in Oslo. It is specialised in the development of a truly wireless infrared system for the detection of hydrocarbons. The system is already in use in plants around the world. The GasSecure product is protected by numerous patents.
The wireless gas measuring device offers many advantages, for example greatly reduced effort and expenditure regarding technical planning and installation, long battery life of up to over a year and a seamless integration into existing wireless and wired process control systems. The result: Greater efficiency and flexibility for plant operators.
GasSecure AS will be integrated as a distinct subsidiary company of the Dräger Group. All employees will continue to work at the Oslo site. Their technological competence, expertise, entrepreneurial spirit and customer intimacy is an enrichment for the whole Dräger Group.
