Samsung WEA524i (Indoor) Quick Installation Manual

Introduction

The Samsung WEA524i is an Access Point (AP) designed for connecting devices like smartphones, tablets, and laptops to a wired network via wireless LAN. It supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standards, PoE (Power over Ethernet) IEEE 802.3at/802.3af, 4x4 MU-MIMO, and concurrent 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios.

Upon unpacking the WEA524i, verify that all the following items are included:

Installation

The WEA524i can be installed on ceilings or walls. Ensure all components are present before installation.

Installation on Ceilings (T-bar type):

Ensure firm fixing to prevent the WEA524i from dropping. For non-T-bar ceilings, refer to the separate "Installation Manual" or contact the dealer.

  1. Remove the holding tape from the ceiling clip. [?]
  2. Open the ceiling clip wider than the T-bar width. [↔️]
  3. Adjust the ceiling clip to fit the T-bar width.
  4. Secure the ceiling clip by tightening the 4 designated screws. [?]
  5. Fasten the T-bar using the 2 screws on the ceiling clip. [?]
  6. Pull a LAN cable through the ceiling hole and connect it to the Ethernet port (PoE) on the WEA524i. [?]
  7. If PoE is not supported, connect the power adapter to the DC input on the back of the WEA524i. [?]
  8. Align the WEA524i with the 3 holes on the mount bracket and turn clockwise to fix it. Clean up the ceiling and cables. [?]

Note: If the T-bar size is 15 mm, 24 mm, or 38 mm, check the fixing positions on the bottom surface of the mount bracket. If the T-bar size is unknown, push the ceiling clip to check the fixing positions.

Installation on Walls:

  1. Remove the holding tape from the ceiling clip. [?]
  2. Detach the ceiling clip from the mount bracket. [➖]
  3. Position the mount bracket on the wall, mark, and drill 4 holes. [?]
  4. Insert 4 plastic anchors into the drilled holes using a hammer. Align the anchors with the bracket's screw holes and secure the bracket with four M4 x L28 screws. [??]
  5. Connect a LAN cable to the Ethernet port (PoE) on the back of the WEA524i. [?]
  6. If PoE is not supported, connect the power adapter to the DC input on the back of the WEA524i. [?]

Installing Anti-Theft Lock Cable:

For public installations, use anti-theft lock cables to prevent loss. Cables are sold separately.

  1. Connect the anti-theft lock cable to the WEA524i. [?]
  2. Turn the lock cable key to secure the cable. [?]
  3. Remove and store the key separately.

Using Anti-Theft Torx Screws:

Prevent theft by tightening the Torx screws. Fix them to the mount bracket before assembling the AP.

Regulatory Information

This equipment complies with FCC Rules Part 15 as a Class B digital device, designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. It generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy. If interference occurs, try reorienting the antenna, increasing separation, or connecting to a different circuit. Unauthorized modifications may void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

The S100-S200 MHz band is restricted to indoor use in Canada and Europe.

This device complies with Industry Canada license-exempt RDS standards. Operation is subject to two conditions: no interference caused, and acceptance of any interference received.

RF Radiation Exposure Statement: Install and operate this equipment with a minimum distance of 50 cm between the radiator and your body. The transmitter must not be co-located or operated with any other antenna or transmitter.

If the AP is installed in a ceiling with ventilation, the AP Ethernet port must be placed horizontally.

This product is RoHS compliant.
