Installation
The WEA524i can be installed on ceilings or walls. Ensure all components are present before installation.
Safety Requirements:
- Caution: Risk of electrical shock. Turn off power during installation. Do not proceed if there is electrical current leakage.
- Wear anti-static gloves or take appropriate ESD prevention measures.
- Do not connect a phone line to an Ethernet port to avoid product damage.
- This product must be connected to a power supply compliant with IEEE 802.3at/af or a limited power supply compliant with IEC/EN/UL 60950-1.
- Caution: This product must be installed or removed by appropriately trained service personnel. It operates in the Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) state in compliance with IEC/EN/UL 60950-1.
Installation Instructions:
- Install the system in an easily accessible location for installation, cable connections, and maintenance.
- Install the PoE cable away from electrical interference sources like power lines or fluorescent lights.
- Use a CAT 5e or higher Ethernet cable.
- If PoE is unavailable, a power adapter (sold separately) can be used. The power socket should be within 2m of the equipment, supplied by an independent circuit breaker. Using a filter or surge protector is recommended.
Installation on Ceilings (T-bar type):
Ensure firm fixing to prevent the WEA524i from dropping. For non-T-bar ceilings, refer to the separate "Installation Manual" or contact the dealer.
- Remove the holding tape from the ceiling clip. [?]
- Open the ceiling clip wider than the T-bar width. [↔️]
- Adjust the ceiling clip to fit the T-bar width.
- Secure the ceiling clip by tightening the 4 designated screws. [?]
- Fasten the T-bar using the 2 screws on the ceiling clip. [?]
- Pull a LAN cable through the ceiling hole and connect it to the Ethernet port (PoE) on the WEA524i. [?]
- If PoE is not supported, connect the power adapter to the DC input on the back of the WEA524i. [?]
- Align the WEA524i with the 3 holes on the mount bracket and turn clockwise to fix it. Clean up the ceiling and cables. [?]
Note: If the T-bar size is 15 mm, 24 mm, or 38 mm, check the fixing positions on the bottom surface of the mount bracket. If the T-bar size is unknown, push the ceiling clip to check the fixing positions.
Installation on Walls:
- Remove the holding tape from the ceiling clip. [?]
- Detach the ceiling clip from the mount bracket. [➖]
- Position the mount bracket on the wall, mark, and drill 4 holes. [?]
- Insert 4 plastic anchors into the drilled holes using a hammer. Align the anchors with the bracket's screw holes and secure the bracket with four M4 x L28 screws. [??]
- Connect a LAN cable to the Ethernet port (PoE) on the back of the WEA524i. [?]
- If PoE is not supported, connect the power adapter to the DC input on the back of the WEA524i. [?]
Installing Anti-Theft Lock Cable:
For public installations, use anti-theft lock cables to prevent loss. Cables are sold separately.
- Connect the anti-theft lock cable to the WEA524i. [?]
- Turn the lock cable key to secure the cable. [?]
- Remove and store the key separately.
Using Anti-Theft Torx Screws:
Prevent theft by tightening the Torx screws. Fix them to the mount bracket before assembling the AP.
Regulatory Information
This equipment complies with FCC Rules Part 15 as a Class B digital device, designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. It generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy. If interference occurs, try reorienting the antenna, increasing separation, or connecting to a different circuit.
