Chapter 1: Get to Know About Your Adapter
This chapter introduces the capabilities of the adapter.
A compact, gold-colored USB adapter with a black connector end is shown.
The TP-Link Bluetooth 5.0 Nano USB Adapter supports advanced Bluetooth 5.0, enabling wireless connectivity with devices like computers, printers, phones, headsets, speakers, keyboards, and controllers. It is highly portable and smaller than a flash drive, offering wireless communication with Bluetooth-enabled devices on Windows 10/8.1/7 systems.

Chapter 2: Connect to a Computer
This chapter explains how to connect the adapter to your computer.
- Before use, disable all existing Bluetooth devices (built-in and third-party) from the Windows Device Manager. [Note] To access Device Manager: Right-click This PC or My Computer, select Manage, go to Device Manager, and disable all existing Bluetooth devices.
- Insert the adapter directly into a USB port on your computer. An illustration shows a computer's USB ports and a close-up of the adapter being inserted into a USB port. This image is for demonstration only.
Chapter 3: Install Bluetooth Driver
This chapter covers installing the adapter's driver, pairing Bluetooth devices, and uninstalling the driver. The adapter features a Driver Setup Wizard to guide the installation process. This chapter includes the following sections:

3.1. Install Bluetooth Adapter's Driver
(Steps use UB500 as an example)
- Download the driver from https://www.tp-link.com/download-center. [Tip] For Windows 10/8.1 systems, the driver installation typically starts automatically when connected to the internet; otherwise, download manually.
- Extract the downloaded file and run
Setup.exe
to begin driver installation. A screenshot shows the InstallShield Wizard preparing the setup for TP-Link UB500 Bluetooth Driver. - Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- Once finished, restart your computer.
Notes:
- The TP-Link Bluetooth 5.0 USB Adapter will appear in Device Manager upon correct driver installation.
- If driver installation fails, try disabling antivirus software and firewall, then retry.
- For Windows 7, if a Windows Security message appears, refer to https://www.tp-link.com/faq-2760.html.
3.2. Pair With Your Bluetooth Devices
For Windows 7:
- Open the Start menu and access Devices and Printers.
- Select Add Device to choose the device you want to pair with your computer.
- Select the found device from the list and click Next. [Note] Ensure your Bluetooth device is set to be discoverable.
- Click Finish when pairing is complete. [Note] You may be prompted to enter a pairing code; ensure the identical code is entered on both devices.
For Windows 8.1:
- Open the Start menu, type Bluetooth to access Bluetooth settings.
- Toggle Bluetooth on.
- Select your Bluetooth device and follow the on-screen instructions to complete pairing.
For Windows 10:
- Open the Start menu, type Bluetooth to access Bluetooth settings.
- Click Add Bluetooth or other device to scan for Bluetooth devices.
- Select your Bluetooth device from the list and follow the on-screen instructions to complete pairing.
Notes for Pairing:
- Make sure your Bluetooth device is set to be discoverable.
- If the Bluetooth icon does not appear, refer to Troubleshooting > T1.
- During pairing, you may be prompted for a pairing code. Enter the identical code on both devices.
3.3. Uninstall Bluetooth Adapter's Driver
Navigate to Start > All Programs > TP-Link, find your model, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete uninstallation.
[Note] Alternatively, remove the driver via Windows Device Manager: Go to Windows Device Manager, find the adapter, right-click it, select Uninstall, and follow the instructions.
Appendix: Troubleshooting
T1. What should I do if the Bluetooth icon doesn't appear?
- Ensure Bluetooth is turned on in Windows settings.
- If other Bluetooth devices are present, disable them in Device Manager, then re-insert the adapter and try again.
T2. Why is the adapter not working with my Bluetooth device?
- Verify your device has Bluetooth functionality.
- Ensure the latest Bluetooth driver is installed. Check published driver versions at https://www.tp-link.com/download-center.
- Devices with non-standard Bluetooth protocols (e.g., Logitech Mouse) may have compatibility issues.
