Package Contents
The package typically includes:
- 1 x 8-Outlet 1U eco PDU
- 1 x Rack Mount Kit
- 1 x Foot Pad Set (4 pcs)
- 1 x RJ-45 to DB-9 Cable
- 1 x Full-Panel Colored Sticker
- 1 x User Instructions (Quick Start Guide)
Installation
- Grounding: Ensure the unit is properly grounded. This is crucial to prevent damage from power surges or static electricity.
- Connect Devices: For each device to be connected, use its power cable to link the device's AC power inlet to an available outlet on the eco PDU. Use ATEN Lok-U-Plug cable holders to secure the cables.
- Connect Network: Connect the unit's LAN 1 or LAN 2 port to a network using an Ethernet cable. For network redundancy, both LAN ports can be connected using two Ethernet cables. The LAN ports can also be used to cascade multiple PDUs.
- Connect Sensor (Optional): Connect an environmental sensor, such as the ATEN EA1640 Temperature & Humidity Sensor, to the unit's sensor port.
- Connect Serial Controller (Optional): Connect an RS-232/RS-485 serial controller to the unit's COM port.
- Power On: Connect the unit's built-in power cord to an AC power source to turn it on. Then, turn on the connected devices.
Rack Mount
To mount the unit in a standard equipment rack:
- Attach the two included mounting brackets to the sides of the unit using the provided screws.
- Align the mounting brackets' screw holes with the corresponding holes on the front of the rack. Secure the unit to the rack using appropriate screws (typically self-supplied or included with the rack).
Diagram Description: The rack mount diagram visually demonstrates attaching the brackets and securing the PDU to a rack.
Operation
ATEN eco PDUs offer three primary methods for managing the unit and its connected devices:
Web Console
- Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the eco PDU you wish to access.
- If a security alert dialog appears, accept the certificate as it is trusted. The login page will then be displayed.
- Enter a valid username and password. For first-time login, use the default credentials: username "administrator" and password "password".
- Click "Login" to access the main browser page.
Note: Default IP addresses are 192.168.0.60 for LAN 1 and 192.168.0.61 for LAN 2. These can be obtained from the eco PDU administrator.
eco DC
All ATEN eco PDUs support ATEN eco DC (Energy & DCIM Management Web GUI). This software provides an intuitive and user-friendly graphical interface for configuring eco PDUs and monitoring the power status of all connected equipment. To install, visit the product web page and download the installer from the "Support and Downloads" tab.
SNMP
The PDUs are compatible with third-party SNMP Manager Software (V1, V2, and V3). To obtain the software installer, visit the product page and download it from the "Support and Downloads" tab.
