Connection Preparation
It is important that your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, not a 5GHz network.
To verify your mobile device is set to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network:
- Navigate to your phone's Settings menu.
- Click on Wi-Fi.
- In this menu, you will see all detectable networks in your area.
- Locate the SSID (the name of your network) and ensure it does not end with "5G" or "5GHz".
Ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi signal (at least two bars) in the location where the smart camera will be installed.
If you do not have at least two bars signal on your phone, consider relocating the camera to a different location or obtaining a Wi-Fi extender to boost the Wi-Fi signal strength.
Install the App and Register Account
For the best experience, download the "Mirabella Genio" APP from the App Store or Google Play. The Genio APP icon will be displayed after installation.
Note: QR codes are excluded from this document.
Insert the Micro SD Card
The camera can operate without a Micro SD card, but it will not be able to record footage. The Micro SD card slot is located on the side of the camera. Carefully insert the Micro SD card in the correct direction; do not force it.
Micro SD card size requirements: greater than 8GB, supports up to a maximum of 128GB.
Pairing the Camera using Mirabella Genio App
- Connect the camera to power using the supplied DC 5V 1A power adapter and switch it on.
- Wait for 30-40 seconds. The indicator light will start blinking rapidly in RED (2 blinks per second), indicating the camera is ready to pair.
- Launch the Mirabella Genio APP, tap the "+" symbol, choose "Security & Sensor", and select your camera from the menu.
Follow the APP's instructions carefully to complete the network pairing process. Video instructions are available at www.mirabellagenio.com.au.
Troubleshooting Pairing Issues:
- If the indicator light changes from blinking Red to blinking Blue but fails to become solid Blue, or if you encounter a timeout/device not found error, it indicates a communication error with the router.
- Ensure you have manually disabled the 5GHz Wi-Fi signal on your router settings.
- Ensure you have entered the correct 2.4GHz Wi-Fi name and password.
- If the indicator light is not blinking RED rapidly when turned on, power off the camera, wait 10 seconds, power it on, and hold the reset button until the light starts blinking red rapidly, then repeat the pairing process.

Memory Card Settings Explained
- SD Card Recording: Must be enabled to record footage and view in playback mode.
- Event Recording: Records only when motion is detected (Motion Detection must be active).
- Non-stop Recording: Records 24/7; overwrites old footage when the card is full.
- Format Memory Card: Deletes all content and formats the SD card to FAT32.
Recommendations:
- Use high-speed Micro SD cards (Class 10) from brands like Scandisk, Verbatim, Kingston, or Samsung for best performance.
- A 32GB card can record up to 6 days of footage with non-stop recording, or up to 4 weeks with event recording.
Important Note: Wi-Fi camera performance heavily depends on your router. If using Telstra NBN or a dual-band router, disable the 5GHz Wi-Fi for optimal connection, as most smart products in Australia operate on 2.4GHz.
FAQ and Troubleshooting
- Connecting to another router/Genio account: Go to camera settings, select "remove device", reset the camera, and pair again via the APP.
- Poor performance / slow live footage: Check Wi-Fi signal strength (less than 60% may require relocating the camera or using a Wi-Fi extender).
- Camera offline after power failure: Go to camera settings, select "remove device", reset the camera, and pair again via the APP.
- "Cannot find Device" error: Ensure strong Wi-Fi signal, disable 5GHz Wi-Fi on the router, ensure 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is on, and verify the correct 2.4GHz Wi-Fi SSID and password are used. The indicator light should be blinking RED rapidly (2 blinks/sec).
- Telstra NBN / 5GHz disabled issues: Follow guest network pairing instructions at https://mirabellagenio.net.au/faqs. If issues persist after disabling 5GHz and the light blinks blue but not solid, the modem might be incompatible.
