TZT-701 Controller Kit (retrofit)
TZT-701 Thermostat Kit for ISD/OSA-RK & OPA-RK Series including Digital systems Installation Instructions GENERAL The temperzone TZT-701 is a microprocessor based air conditioning room temperature controller. The TZT-701 Thermostat Kits are designed for use with the following temperzone units: a. ISD/OSA-RK Series b. OPA-RKT Series (up to 96kW). c. Including models with Digital scroll compressors. The TZT-701 Wall Control sends instructions to the TZT-701 Controller board which is mounted, either: (a) outside the electrical box or side panel of an ISD unit, or (b) inside the electrical board of an OPA unit. ' In the event of a power failure a battery backup will maintain the real time clock and the integrity of the control data. Note: Units up to 27 kW (ie ISD/OPA 270) We recommend you fit the TZT-701 indoor coil sensor before connecting any refrigeration pipework. Fit to System 1 on twin compressor systems. This indoor coil sensor must only be fitted when TZT-701 is fitted to units up to OPA 170 and ISD 270 where the indoor fan motor is three speed controlled directly from the TZT-701. The indoor coil sensor must not be used where there is a Fan 24V terminal wired from the TZT-701 that starts the fan before any compressors are allowed to run. Three speed control of the fan on units such as ISD298/330/460 is by manual selection, not automatic control. TZT-701 THERMOSTAT KIT Components: 1. TZT-701 Controller board in metal box c/w transformer. 2. TZT-701 Wall Control plaque, including wall mounting plate. 3. 10 m interface lead (plaque-to- Controller). 4. Indoor Coil Sensor on lead; 2.0 m. 5. Mounting screws 3/4" No.8 (x8). 6. Heat transfer paste. 7. Cable ties (x4). 8. Insulation tape 120 mm long 9. High temperature sleeving 150 mm long 10. Wiring diagram label. 11. TZT-701 Installation Instructions booklet. 12.TZT-701 User Manual booklet. 13.TZT-701 Thermostat Kit Instructions. Optional 1. Remote return air sensor (in plastic box). 2. Remote return air temperature sensor lead; 1.5, 6, 12 or 25 m. 3. 20 m extended interface lead (electrical box-to-plaque). 4. Twin or quadruple sensor averaging leads for large zone temperature averaging. Note: As installations can vary greatly between units and locations, no joining wires are supplied with this kit (refer wiring diagrams). Check that all items of the kitset are supplied and no damage has occurred to the items. Fig. 1 Typical Locations of TZT-701 Controller box Pre-drilled mounting holes are supplied on most units Installation Refer to the TZT-701 Installation Instructions booklet supplied with this kit. Pre-drilled mounting holes are supplied on some units at recommended locations to assist mounting of the TZT-701 Controller metal box (see below). Note: When applied to 3 phase indoor fans, The TZT-701 must be set for continuous running, ie Fan Mode set to 'Fan On' and Advanced Installer Mode set to 'FO=00'. When applying to Digital compressor systems it will be necessary to have the additional 010 volt DC signal wiring installed (2 wires) and to remove a link wire between terminals 'L+' and 'I5' on the Siemens Logo controller located in the outdoor unit electrical box. COMMISSIONING Refer to the air conditioner's Installation Instructions in order to complete the startup and commissioning procedure for the complete air conditioning system. Check that the wall control is correctly wired and set at the desired temperature. Demonstrate the TZT-701 Wall Control to the owner/user, after having first thoroughly familiarised yourself with the User Manual. This booklet is to remain with the owner/ user. Note The manufacturer reserves the right to change specifications at any time without notice or obligation. This pamphlet replaces the previous issue no. 3024 dated 11/08.
