Important Battery Information

Caution: To avoid battery leakage, always follow instructions carefully. Use only specified batteries and insert them correctly, matching the + and - polarity markings.

• Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types (e.g., carbon-zinc with alkaline).
• Remove exhausted or dead batteries promptly.
• Remove batteries if the product will not be used for a long time.
• Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
• Rechargeable Batteries: Do not mix with other battery types. Remove from the product before recharging. Recharge under adult supervision. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.

Dispose of batteries and the product separately at your local waste recycling center. Do not dispose of them in household waste bins.

If the product causes electrical interference, move it away from other electrical equipment.

First Time Furby Setup

1. Open the battery cover using a Phillips head screwdriver (not included).
2. Insert 4 fresh AA batteries and screw the cover back on.
3. Press Furby's heart gem to begin.
4. Say "HEY FURBY!"
5. Wait for Furby to respond. Furby's ears will glow green and you will hear a chime.
6. When the heart gem and ears change to white, Furby is listening.
7. Say one of the following commands: "DANCE PARTY", "COPY CAT", "TELL MY FORTUNE", "LET'S CHILL", "LIGHT SHOW".

Reset: If necessary, switch Furby off and on again, or remove and re-insert batteries.

Commands You Can Give Furby

• "DANCE PARTY": Unlock songs, a freeze dance game, and more. Tap Furby's head to skip songs or tap the tummy to repeat.
• "COPY CAT": Furby will wait 6 seconds to hear you say something, then say it back with silly voice effects. Tap the head to change voices and tap the tummy to repeat.
• "TELL MY FORTUNE": Rub the tummy for happy words of wisdom. Shake to switch to Magic Furball mode. Ask a question and shake Furby for an answer. (For entertainment purposes only).
• "LET'S CHILL": Furby will play peaceful music and guide you through calm exercises or cheer you up with positive sayings. Tap Furby's head to explore different routines.
• "LIGHT SHOW": Make Furby's ears light up for 10 minutes! Tap the head for different color patterns. Touch the tummy for special light effects.

Try each mode again to discover more phrases, songs, and activities. Furby will let you know when you've unlocked something!

Helpful Hints

• Press the heart gem and say "Hey Furby!" again to change modes. Remember to wait for Furby to respond before saying your next command.
• Speak clearly and say only one command at a time.
• Furby loves to be pet and brushed. It responds to your touch!
• Make sure you are in a quiet place, as Furby reacts to noise and music.

Anatomy of Furby

• Heart Gem: Press here to make Furby pay attention, change modes, and power off.
• Ears: React to music and speech with lights. Shake Furby to change which color they glow!
• Mouth: Feed with your finger or Furby's favorite pizza charm.
• Tummy: See what happens when you tickle and cuddle Furby's tummy.
• Feet: Furby may not have arms, but its feet are always ready for dancing.

Meet Other Friends

When you have 2 or more Furby friends next to each other (sold separately):

1. Hold both of their heart gems for at least 5 seconds or until you hear "FURdar Activated".
2. Choose your "leader" Furby and tap their head once.
3. The "leader" will pair with the other Furby to start the fun!

Furby speaks their own language! See if you can figure out what Furby is saying.

Power Off

Sleep Power: Lay Furby down on its back to hear sleep sounds. Press the heart gem 3 times for full power off.

Wake Up: Press the heart gem or feed Furby!

Tips & Troubleshooting

I said a command, but Furby won't do it:

• Try again: press the heart gem button, say "Hey Furby!", and repeat the command.
• Wait for Furby to respond to "Hey Furby" before saying the command.
• It may be too noisy where you are. Move to a quieter place.
• Turn Furby off and back on again.

Furby's fur got dirty:

• Gently wipe it down with a damp cloth, but don't let it get wet! Furby doesn't like water.

Furby won't turn on or doesn't sound right:

• Make sure you have fresh batteries. You won't lose the fun things you unlocked when you change the batteries.

Full Reset: Turn Furby upside down. Press and hold both the mouth and heart gem at the same time for over 5 seconds. You will see the ears flash red and hear a beep.
