Barnett 1x20mm Micro Red/Green Dot Crossbow Scope
Thank you for choosing Barnett™. Please read these operating instructions completely before mounting your micro red dot sight. Ensure your crossbow is not cocked or loaded during installation and follow safe crossbow handling procedures.
Installation
Using the provided 3/32" Allen key, loosen the locking screw at the bottom of the sight (Figure 1. Item G) counter-clockwise 5 turns to allow for installation onto the picatinny rail of your crossbow. Attach the sight base onto the picatinny rail with the eyepiece (Figure 1. Item A) positioned towards the rear of the bow. The eyepiece should be clear and not mirrored. Ensure the screw in the base of the sight is seated correctly in the grooves of the picatinny rail so the sight sits flush. As there is no set eye relief for red dot sights, allow a minimum of three inches of space between the eyepiece and the shooter's eye when in the shooting position. Tighten the locking screw with the provided 3/32" Allen key. Do not overtighten to avoid stripping the screw.

Installing Batteries & Illumination
Your red dot sight is powered by one 3V lithium coin style battery, type 2032. To install the battery, unscrew the Battery Compartment Cap (Figure 1, Item D) on top of the rheostat illumination knob and insert the battery with the positive (+) side up. Replace the battery cover. If the red dot dims or does not light at all, replace the battery with a new one.
Activate the red dot sight and adjust for desired brightness by turning the Rheostat Illumination Knob (Figure 1, Item E). Lower numbers indicate dimmer settings, and higher numbers indicate brighter settings. The "R" and "G" designate red and green color respectively, with the arrow indicating the brightness setting. Turning the knob to either "R" or "G" will turn off illumination.
Initial Zeroing of Sight
Before beginning the zeroing process, remove the adjustment caps (Figure 1, Items B & C). With the sight leveled and mounted, rest the crossbow on a solid support. Be aware of your target and what is beyond it. During zeroing, the windage and elevation adjustments will be checked and corrected. Aim the top dot at the bullseye of your target at 20 yards and shoot 3 arrows to confirm your shot placement pattern. It is recommended to remove arrows after each shot to reduce the risk of damaging them.
After firing the first group, evaluate the position of impact (POI) relative to the position of aim (POA). The adjustment turrets are marked with arrows indicating the direction to rotate the turret to affect the noted POI change. For example, if the arrow grouping was low compared to the bullseye, rotate the elevation turret (Figure 1, Item C) counter-clockwise to raise the POI. The elevation turret will be marked "UP" with an arrow pointing counter-clockwise. Similarly, if the grouping is to the right of the bullseye, rotate the windage turret (Figure 1, Item B) counter-clockwise to move the group to the left. The windage turret will be marked with an "L" and an arrow pointing counter-clockwise.
It is recommended to adjust only elevation or windage after each group to minimize variability. Continue firing small groups and adjusting until the POI settles on top of the POA. Then, the remaining dot ranges can be set.
Setting Dot Ranges
The 3-dot sight is designed with a triad of dots to allow for rapid adjustment of POA to compensate for arrow drop at increasing ranges. Each bow will present different dot ranges due to varying speeds, so the ranges listed are only a guide. Arrow weight changes will also affect these ranges, so be sure to set the ranges with an arrow/point combination reflective of intended use.
EXAMPLE (Yardages will vary from bow to bow)
- 10 YARDS
- 15 YARDS
- 20 YARDS
The top dot is for the shortest yardage; it is recommended to sight this in at 10 yards as described previously. To set the second dot, gradually move your target further out until your POI and PDA are both in the center of the bullseye using the second dot (noting the yardage when this occurs). Repeat this process for the third dot.
Maintenance
When not in use, the Red Dot Sight should be kept in one of the off positions, in a clean, dry, and ventilated place away from any corrosive material. Never attempt to disassemble the sight or clean it internally. Send your sight to a qualified service station if it requires repair. The lens surface may be cleaned with a lens cloth.
