Greenheck AER and BAER Sidewall Propeller Fans
Efficient and Reliable Supply and Exhaust Fans
Introduction
Greenheck's AER direct drive and BAER belt drive sidewall fan offerings provide efficient air movement for clean air applications. With up to 30% higher maximum airflow compared to existing options, these models are constructed from corrosion-resistant galvanized steel and feature high-efficiency fabricated steel and cast aluminum airfoil propellers. The AER and BAER fans outperform the competition and can be paired with standard sidewall options or accessories for comprehensive wall-mounted fan solutions.
Key Features and Specifications
- Sizes: Direct drive sizes from 20-60 inches; Belt drive sizes from 24-48 inches.
- Performance: Direct drive up to 78,600 cfm and 3.4 in. wg static pressure; Belt drive up to 54,000 cfm and 3.7 in. wg static pressure.
- Mounting Options: Horizontal or vertical mounting, wall housing, and wall collar.
- Applications: Clean air applications, industrial environments, factories, warehouses, data centers/data management, and mission critical facilities.
Standard Construction
AER Direct Drive
- Drive Frame: Galvanized steel with bolted construction, prepunched mounting holes, and formed flanges.
- Propeller: Heavy-duty cast aluminum (20-60 inch diameters) or fabricated steel (20-48 inch diameters). All propellers are statically and dynamically balanced.
- Motor: Heavy-duty, permanently lubricated, ball bearing type. Available with Greenheck's Vari-Green® electronically commutated (EC) motor up to 10 horsepower (AER only) or AC motors up to 20 horsepower.
BAER Belt Drive
- Belt Tensioner: Standard automatic belt-tensioning drive setup for simplified maintenance and reduced drive loss.
Product Certifications
Models AER and BAER are UL/cUL 705 listed. Greenheck's AER fans also feature Seismic Certification, tested to withstand severe seismic conditions across the United States. The fans are licensed to bear the AMCA Seal for air performance and sound ratings, complying with AMCA Publication 211 and 311.
Dimensions
Detailed dimension tables and diagrams are provided for both AER Direct Drive and BAER Belt Drive models, specifying dimensions A through E and recommended wall opening sizes for various fan sizes. Approximate fan weights are also listed.
Performance Data
Performance coverage charts are presented for various AER Direct Drive fan sizes (20 through 60), illustrating static pressure versus volume (CFM) for both cast aluminum and fabricated steel propellers. Similar performance charts are provided for BAER Belt Drive fan sizes (24 through 48).
Options and Accessories
- Disconnect Switches: Toggle-type and heavy-duty options for electrical shutoff.
- Extended Wiring Pigtail: For direct hook-up to the power supply.
- End Switches: Allow damper to open before fan energizes.
- One-Point Wiring: For simplified wiring connections.
- Motors: Variety of AC and Vari-Green® (EC) motors.

Mounting Options
Sidewall propeller housings can be oriented in multiple configurations. Key considerations include whether the fan and housing are placed inside or outside the building, and how the motor and drives are accessed (from inside or outside). Diagrams illustrate flush exterior and flush interior mounting with various damper and motor access orientations.
Model Nomenclature
The model nomenclature system is explained, detailing how to interpret drive type (AER/BAER), fan size, propeller blade material (Fabricated Steel/Cast Aluminum), number of blades, blade pitch, and drive options (Direct Drive Only, VG = Vari-Green®, VGD = Vari-Green Drive®).
