Getting Started: Quick Start Guide
This guide provides essential steps to begin using your X-TERRA 705 Gold Pack.
Troubleshooting and Factory Reset
To reset the detector to factory settings:
Press and hold the [Menu Button], then press the [Power Button] to reset the detector.
After performing a factory preset, repeat steps 2, 3, and 4.

Quick Start Steps
Step 1: Power On
Press the [Power Button] to turn on the detector.
Step 2: Select Prospecting Mode
Confirm that the Prospecting Mode [T] is selected. If Coin Mode [ ] is currently selected, press the [Mode Button] to switch to Gold Prospecting Mode [ ].
Step 3: Select All Metal Mode
Press the [AM Button] to select All Metal [ ].
Step 4: Ground Balance
Confirm that Tracking is selected. Move the coil up and down until a stable audio response is achieved. Confirm all settings are correct and begin detecting.
Detecting Basics
Follow these fundamental techniques for effective metal detection:
- Cable Management: Wrap the cable around the shaft.
- Coil Clearance: Keep metal objects away from the coil.
- Spacing: Maintain a separation of at least 25 meters from other metal objects or people.
- Sweep Technique:
- Sweep the coil parallel to the ground.
- Sweep the coil at a slow, steady pace.
- Overlap each sweep to ensure complete coverage of the search area.
- Site Restoration: Refill any holes dug after detecting.
