Tetra Test 6in1: Instructions for Use
This guide provides instructions for using Tetra Test 6in1 strips to quickly and easily test six key water parameters in your aquarium. Remove one strip and reseal the packaging. Dip the test strip into the aquarium water and move it 2 to 3 times. Shake off excess liquid. Wait approximately 60 seconds and compare the test fields to the scale on the packaging. Attention: Do not touch the test fields or hold them under running water! As part of the nitrogen cycle, organic material containing nitrogen (fish waste, uneaten food, dissolved waste) breaks down, producing nitrite (NO₂⁻) and eventually nitrate (NO₃⁻). High nitrite levels (> 1 mg/l) are harmful and can lead to fish loss. High nitrate levels (> 50 mg/l) are harmful to sensitive fish and promote algae growth. The pH value indicates the water's acidity or alkalinity. A pH between 6.5 and 8.5 is tolerated by most freshwater fish, but ideal ranges vary by species. Favorable GH values are between 4 °dH and 16 °dH. GH represents the concentration of calcium and magnesium salts in the water. Favorable KH values are between 3 °dH and 10 °dH. KH represents the hydrogen carbonate concentration, which acts as a pH buffer. Chlorine may be present in tap water and is harmful to fish and bacteria. It must not be introduced to the aquarium. Use the Tetra Aquatics App to quickly, safely, and easily determine water values using your smartphone. For more information on water quality, visit www.tetra.net.How to Test
