3.0 The PowerSeries Neo Security System
Your PowerSeries Neo system is designed for maximum flexibility and convenience. This manual guides you through its operation. Ensure your installer provides instruction on system features and programming. All users should receive equal instruction. Complete the "System Information" section with zone details and access codes, and keep this manual for reference.
3.1 General System Operation
The security system comprises a PowerSeries Neo control panel, one or more keypads, and various sensors/detectors. The control panel, containing electronics, fuses, and a standby battery, is typically mounted in an out-of-the-way location like a utility closet or basement. Keypads offer audible indicators and command entry. LED keypads display zone and system status lights, while LCD keypads provide an alphanumeric liquid crystal display. Keypads are used to send commands and view system status, and are usually placed near entry/exit doors. The system protects areas using zones, each connected to sensors (e.g., motion detectors, glassbreak detectors, door contacts). An alarm sensor triggers corresponding zone lights on an LED keypad or displays messages on an LCD keypad.
Note: Only installers or service professionals should access the control panel.
3.2 Testing Your System
Regular testing of keypad LEDs, sounders, bells, and sirens is crucial to ensure system functionality. Test your system weekly.
IMPORTANT: For UL HOME HEALTH CARE listed applications, the system must be tested weekly without AC power. To disconnect AC power, remove the screw from the plug adapter's restraining tab and unplug it. After testing with battery backup only, reconnect the adapter and secure the screw.
IMPORTANT: If the system fails to function properly, contact your installation company.
IMPORTANT: All smoke detectors must be tested by a smoke detector installer annually.
