Cisco Business 110 Series Unmanaged Switches Mounting Guide

Installing the Switch

Before installing the switch, unpack and inspect it for damage or missing components. Contact customer service immediately if any issues are found.

This guide is specific to CBS 110 switches. Switches can be installed on a rack, wall, or desk/shelf, with or without mounting screws.

Option 1 - Rack-mount

To use the rack-mount option, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the screws (when applicable) from the side panel on the switch.
  2. Align the screw holes in the brackets to the holes in the switch and attach the brackets with the screws.
  3. Align the brackets on the switch to the rack at the desired height and attach the switch to the brackets using the screws.

Diagram Description: The process involves attaching mounting brackets to the switch and then securing the switch to a server rack.

Safety Instructions for Rack Mounting

The following safety instructions are included with the installation procedures:

ConditionInstructions
Elevated Operating TemperatureIf installed in a closed or multi-rack assembly, the operating temperature of the rack environment may exceed room temperature. Ensure the equipment is installed in an environment compatible with the specified maximum temperature (Tma).
Reduced Air FlowInstallation should ensure adequate air flow for safe operation is not compromised.
Mechanical LoadingMounting should prevent hazardous conditions due to uneven mechanical loading.
Circuit OverloadingConsider the connection to the supply circuit and potential effects of overloading on protection and wiring. Use equipment nameplate ratings for guidance.
Reliable GroundingMaintain reliable grounding for rack-mounted equipment. Pay special attention to supply connections other than direct branch current connections (e.g., power strips).

Option 2 - Wall-mount

Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates how to measure the distance between mounting holes for wall mounting. The distance 'X.XX' varies by model:

ModelDistance (X.XX)
CBS110-5T-D1.7 in / 43 mm
CBS110-8T-D, CBS110-8PP-D2.5 in / 63 mm
CBS110-16T, CBS110-16PP3.7 in / 94 mm

To use the wall mount option, follow these steps:

  1. Attach the two screws to the wall-mount slots of the switch lineup.
  2. Maneuver the switch to insert the screws into the two wall-mount slots.

Diagram Description: The wall-mount procedure involves using wall anchors and screws. Part 1 shows a wall anchor, Part 2 shows a screw, Part 3 shows the screw head, and Part 4 shows the screw shaft.

Option 3. Desktop Placement

To install the switch, set it on its four rubber pads and place it on a flat surface.

Diagram Description: The diagram provides specific dimensions for the rubber pads on the bottom of the switches for desktop placement. These dimensions are provided per model:
