1. Choosing a Place for the Microscope
Select a suitable, stable, and level surface for the microscope. Ensure the power socket is easily accessible for disconnecting the device.
2. Illumination
The Analyth STR offers three illumination options: incident light, transmitted light, and both. Connect the power supply and turn on the main switch (6). Brightness for incident and transmitted light can be adjusted separately using controls (7) and (8). The selected settings are retained after switching off.
The microscope can also be powered by batteries (AA type). Insert batteries into the compartment (13) on the underside, observing correct polarity. The microscope can be used with the power supply even when batteries are inserted; however, rechargeable batteries will not be charged.
3. Observation
Place the object on the stage (10) and secure it with clamps (11) if needed. Adjust magnification by rotating the lens holder (12). Start with the lowest magnification (1x). Look through the eyepieces (1) and adjust focus using the wheel (4).
4. Focusing and Dioptre Compensation
Set the dioptre scale (2) to the middle position. Close your left eye and focus for the right eye using the focus wheel (4). Then, close your right eye and adjust focus for the left eye using the dioptre scale. This aligns the microscope to your vision. Note the dioptre scale setting for future use.
5. Eye Distance
Adjust the interpupillary distance by moving the eyepieces until a comfortable view is achieved.
6. Replacing the Eyepieces (optional with 5803800)
Loosen the clamp screw on the underside of the eyepiece holder to remove and replace eyepieces. The screws prevent the eyepieces from falling out.
Note: The LED illumination has a lifespan of approximately 20,000 hours. Contact the service center for technical issues.
7. Adjusting the Friction of the Focusing Drive
If the microscope head droops due to its weight, adjust the friction by turning the two focus wheels in opposite directions.
8. Cleaning and Maintenance
Keep optical surfaces free from dust and fingerprints. Clean the microscope body with a slightly damp soft cloth. Use a separate soft, lint-free cloth with a small amount of alcohol for optical surfaces. After use, protect the microscope with the dust cover (15).
Proper maintenance ensures the microscope retains its optical quality and value.
