The Spider ST1 features the following components:

Installation
For more information about installation, refer to the User's Guide.
Using the Clamp Unit
- Attach the clamp unit to the helmet.
- Attach the Spider ST1 unit to the clamp unit.
Using the Glued Surface Mounting Plate
- Peel off the adhesive backing from the mounting plate.
- Attach the mounting plate to the helmet.
- Attach the Spider ST1 unit to the mounting plate.
Installing the Speakers
- Insert the speakers into the helmet ear pockets.
- Connect the speaker wires to the Spider ST1 unit.
Installing the Wired Boom Microphone
- Position the boom microphone and attach it to the helmet.
- Connect the microphone wire to the Spider ST1 unit.
- Connect the microphone to the Spider ST1 unit.
Installing the Wired Microphone
- Position the wired microphone and attach it to the helmet.
- Connect the microphone wire to the Spider ST1 unit.
- Connect the microphone to the Spider ST1 unit.
Mesh Intercom Antenna
Pull the Mesh Intercom Antenna outwards slightly to unfold it.
Notice
- This Quick Start Guide (Version 2.0) explains how to operate the SPIDER ST1 with firmware version 2.0 or higher.
- For the operation of the SPIDER ST1 with a firmware version lower than 2.0, refer to the SPIDER ST1 Quick Start Guide (Version 1.1.0) or lower.
Icon Legend
- Tap button/Jog Dial the specified number of times: [tap 1x]
- Press and Hold button/Jog Dial for the specified amount of time: [hold 1s], [hold 2s], [hold 5s], [hold 8s], [hold 10s]
- Rotate Jog Dial clockwise (right) or counterclockwise (left): [rotate right], [rotate left]
- Rotate while Pressing Jog Dial clockwise (right) or counterclockwise (left): [rotate right while pressing], [rotate left while pressing]
- Audible prompt: [speaker icon] followed by text.
Basic Operations
- Powering On: Perform [hold 1s] on the [jog dial].
- Powering Off: Perform [tap 1x] on the [jog dial].
- Volume Up: Rotate the [jog dial] [rotate right].
- Volume Down: Rotate the [jog dial] [rotate left].
Checking the Battery Level
When powering on, the battery level is indicated by a series of blue and red dots.
Phone Pairing
- Press and hold the [jog dial] for 5 seconds ([hold 5s]). A voice prompt will say "Phone pairing". The LED will blink blue and red.
- Select "SPIDER ST1" in the list of Bluetooth devices detected on your smartphone.

Using the Phone
- Answer a Call: Perform [tap 1x] on the [P button].
- End a Call: Perform [tap 1x] on the [P button].
- Reject a Call: Perform [hold 2s] on the [jog dial].
- Voice Dial: Perform [tap 1x] on the [P button] in standby mode.
Music Control
- Play/Pause music: Perform [hold 1s] on the [jog dial].
- Track Forward: Rotate the [jog dial] [rotate right].
- Track Backward: Rotate the [jog dial] [rotate left].
Mesh Intercom™
Open Mesh™: communication within the same channel.
Group Mesh™: communication within the same private group.
For more information on Mesh Intercom, refer to the User's Guide.
Mesh Intercom On
Perform [tap 1x] on the [M button]. A voice prompt will say "Mesh intercom on, Open Mesh, channel 1". The LED will blink green.
Mesh Intercom Off
Perform [tap 1x] on the [M button]. A voice prompt will say "Mesh intercom off".
Note: When Mesh Intercom is on, the SPIDER ST1 will automatically connect to nearby SPIDER ST1 users and the headset will be in Open Mesh (default: channel 1) initially.

Channel Setting (Default: channel 1) in Open Mesh
Using the Button
- Enter into the Channel Setting: Perform [tap 2x] on the [M button]. A voice prompt will say "Channel setting, 1".
- Navigate between channels: Rotate the [jog dial] ([rotate right] or [rotate left]) to select channels (e.g., 1 → 2 → … → 8 → 9). To exit, perform [tap 1x] on the [jog dial]. A voice prompt will say "#" for the selected channel.
- Save the channel: Perform [tap 1x] on the [jog dial]. A voice prompt will say "Channel is set, channel #".
Using the SENA MOTORCYCLES App
You can select the channel through the SENA MOTORCYCLES App.
Group Mesh
Group Mesh is a closed group intercom function that allows users to join, leave, or rejoin a group intercom conversation without pairing each headset.
1) Creating a Group Mesh
Creating a Group Mesh requires two or more Open Mesh users.
- Step 1: Users (You, B, and C) enter into Mesh Grouping to create a Group Mesh. Perform [hold 5s] on the [M button]. A voice prompt will say "Mesh grouping".
- Step 2: When Mesh Grouping is completed, the users (You, B and C) will hear a voice prompt on their headset as Open Mesh switches to Group Mesh. The prompt will be "Group Mesh".
2) Joining an Existing Group Mesh
One of the current users in an Existing Group Mesh can allow new users (one or more) in Open Mesh to join the Existing Group Mesh.
- Step 1: One (You) of the current users in the Existing Group Mesh and new users (D and F) in Open Mesh enter into Mesh Grouping to join the Existing Group Mesh. Perform [hold 5s] on the [M button]. A voice prompt will say "Mesh grouping".
- Step 2: When Mesh Grouping is completed, the new users (D and F) will hear a voice prompt on their headset as Open Mesh switches to Group Mesh. The prompt will be "Group Mesh".
Enable/Disable Mic (Default: Enable)
Users can enable/disable the microphone when communicating in a Mesh Intercom.
- To enable/disable: Perform [hold 1s] on the [M button].
Reset Mesh
If a headset in an Open Mesh or Group Mesh resets the Mesh, it will automatically return to Open Mesh (default: channel 1).
- To reset: Perform [hold 8s] on the [M button].
Configuration Menu
- Accessing the Configuration Menu: Perform [hold 5s] on the [jog dial]. A voice prompt will say "Configuration menu".
- Navigating Between Menu Options: Rotate the [jog dial] ([rotate right] or [rotate left]) to move between menu options.
- Execute Menu Options: Perform [tap 1x] on the [jog dial] to select the highlighted option.
Troubleshooting
Factory Reset
- Perform [hold 10s] on the [jog dial]. A voice prompt will say "Factory reset".
- Perform [tap 1x] on the [jog dial]. A voice prompt will say "Headset reset, good-bye".
Fault Reset
A small reset button, typically located on the device, can be pressed with a pin to perform a fault reset. Note: Fault Reset will not restore the headset to the factory default settings.
