PAC L.O.C.PRO ADVANCED
LPA-1.2 | 2 Channel Line-Output Converter
LPA-1.4 | 4 Channel Line-Output Converter
The L.O.C.PRO ADVANCED™ can be used to add amplifiers to an audio system that does not have RCA outputs or when replacing an OEM radio and retaining the factory amplified system. Variable Gain Controls with Clipping Indicators, Selectable Ground Isolation and Load Select features ensure a pure, noise-free signal for any type of audio system.
This Quick Start Guide will help you get started. For additional help or information, please visit the PAC website or contact Technical Support. 12V: Connect to a fused +12V constant source. GND: Connect to a good chassis ground. REM IN: Remote turn-on input (+). REM OUT: Remote turn-on output (+). The LPA provides a +9V Remote Output using DC Signal Sense from the Right channel inputs. SPEAKER SIGNAL INPUTS: Connect to head unit or amplifier speaker outputs. RCA SIGNAL OUTPUTS: Connect to amplifier inputs. GROUND ISOLATION: Selectable jumpers: GND / ISO / 200Ω. Default is ISO. Reposition if ground/engine noise is present. GAIN: Variable control: -28dB to +1dB. Allows gain adjustment of the output signal. CLIP: Indicator light that illuminates when the signal is clipping, meaning the gain is set too high. LOAD SELECT: Selectable jumpers: 20Ω / 60Ω / 20kΩ. Default is 20kΩ. This setting is for factory audio systems requiring a specific resistance load for the audio system to function properly. For late model Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/Ram/Fiat vehicles, specific loads may be required: 20Ω for base audio systems, 60Ω for premium amplified audio systems. 20kΩ is the default for all other vehicle applications. When changing the Load setting, turn the vehicle off, make the change, and let the vehicle sit for 5-10 minutes before retrying. Note: Terminals are fully open before inserting wire. The most common configuration for the L.O.C.PRO ADVANCED is to convert speaker-level input from a radio to RCA-level output for an aftermarket amplifier. This creates RCA outputs from radios that only have speaker-level outputs. In the example installation, the positive (+) and negative (-) wires from two speakers are tapped and connected to the LPA's SPEAKER SIGNAL INPUTS. The speakers will continue to play normally. The REM OUT terminal is connected to the amplifier's turn-on input. When the OEM radio is turned on, the LPA automatically turns on the amplifier. Finally, the RCA SIGNAL OUTPUTS from the LPA are connected to the aftermarket amplifier's inputs. This setup involves connecting the LPA to an OEM radio, speakers, and an aftermarket amplifier. Power is supplied via a 12V constant source and chassis ground. The LPA manages the remote turn-on signal and can provide a +9V remote output. Speaker inputs are taken directly from the OEM radio's speaker outputs, and RCA outputs are provided for the amplifier.Features & Wiring Information
