ROBOT CAR KIT
Robot03
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
Dear customer, thank you very much for choosing our product. In following, we will introduce you to what to observe while starting up and using this product. Should you encounter any unexpected problems during use, please do not hesitate to contact us.
The Robot Car Kit (article no.: Robot03) is a kit that can be used as a basic framework for a car / robot. You have to add further components yourself, such as a power supply (accumulator, batteries) and a controller, e.g. an Arduino with motor controller. JOY-IT accessories are recommended.
The base plate already contains the holes for mounting an Arduino. The motors are designed for a voltage of 3-9 V DC (4.5V recommended).
NOTE: All illustrations are exemplary and do not have to be identical with the items delivered.
Voltage DC V | 4.5 | 6 | 7.2 | 9 |
---|---|---|---|---|
Idle current mA | 190 | 160 | 180 | 200 |
Idle rpm +- 10% | 90 | 190 | 230 | 300 |
Torque gf/cm min. | 800 | 800 | 1000 | 1200 |
2. OVERVIEW
The kit includes the following components:
- Base plate (2x)
- Spacer (6x)
- Engine Mounting (8x)
- Screw 3x30 (6x)
- DC Motor (4x)
- Screw 3x8 (6x)
- Tyres (4x)
- M4 Nut (8x)
- Perforated disc (4x)
Diagrams in the original document illustrate these components.
3. ASSEMBLY
[warning-symbol] Attention! We recommend to install the supply lines for the motors before mounting the car.
Step 1: Base Plate Preparation
Remove the protective film from all components and insert the motor holders into the base plate.
Step 2: Motor and Wheel Attachment
The axle hole of the perforated wheel has a wide and a narrow side. The wide side should point towards the engine.
Place the perforated disc on the motor and position the motors on the base plate. Ensure the connections/cables point outwards.
Step 3: Securing Motors
Fasten the motors with the 3x30 screws and nuts.
Step 4: Attaching Wheels
Press the tyres onto the axles, holding them against the engine.
Step 5: Mounting Spacers and Second Base Plate
Now mount the spacers and screw the second base plate with the 3x8 screws.
4. SAFETY NOTICES
The device must not be unattended during operation. Disconnect the power supply or remove the power source (e.g., batteries) when not in use.
The device is not a toy; it contains swallowable small parts and is not suitable for children.
Acrylic sheets can break under overload. Motors must not be blocked or overloaded, as this can lead to strong heat development. Motors can generate heat during operation; let them cool down before touching them.
The kit is intended for use in dry rooms; it must not get wet or damp. Strong sunlight should be avoided.
Please also heed general safety precautions. There is a particular risk of burns when soldering.
