Futaba GYA573 6-Axis Flight Control Update Instructions
This document provides instructions for updating the Futaba GYA573 6-Axis Flight Control system. The update process can be performed using either a CIU-2/3 interface or a T16IZ/T16IZS/T26SZ transmitter.
Updating GYA573 using CIU-2/3
To update the GYA573 from a PC using CIU-2 or CIU-3, you will need the following:
- A PC with internet connection.
- CIU-2 or CIU-3 (sold separately).
- Update DSC cable (sold separately).
- Receiver battery.
Step 1: Download the GYA573 Update File
Download the GYA573 update file from the Futaba WEB site (https://www.rc.futaba.co.jp/support/) to your PC.
Connection Diagram (CIU-2/3)
Connect the GYA573, CIU-2 or CIU-3, and PC as shown in the diagram. Ensure the CIU-2 or CIU-3 driver software is installed on your PC.
Step 2: Prepare for Update
Connect the GYA573, CIU-2 or CIU-3, and PC according to the connection diagram.
Launch the executable file on your PC. If using CIU-2, select "Update(Lowspeed)". If using CIU-3, select "Update(Highspeed)".
GYA573 Update Mode Selection
When starting the GYA573, select the transfer speed appropriate for the CIU-2 or CIU-3 you are using.
Selection Method:
- CIU-2: Press and hold the MODE SW on the GYA573 while turning on the power. The Mode LED will light up red, then purple after approximately 4 seconds. Release the MODE SW when the Data LED turns red.
- CIU-3: Press and hold the MODE SW on the GYA573 while turning on the power. The Mode LED will light up red, then purple after approximately 4 seconds. Continue holding the MODE SW for another 4 seconds until the Data LED turns green. Release the MODE SW.

Step 4: Execute Update
Click the downloaded update file on your PC to start the GYA573 update.
Caution:
Do not turn off the power or remove the battery during the update process, as this may cause the GYA573 to malfunction.
Update Completion:
When the update is completed successfully for either CIU-2 or CIU-3, the Mode LED will turn blue.

Abnormalities During Update:
If the cable is disconnected or a poor connection occurs during the update, the update will stop midway. In such cases, please restart the update from the beginning. If you are unable to update, please contact Futaba Customer Service.
Error Display:
If you encounter an error message such as "CIU-2/3 is not connected" or "Update target product is not connected", please restart the update process from the beginning. If the error persists, re-download the update file.
Updating GYA573 using T16IZ/T16IZS/T26SZ
Required Items:
- T16IZ V4.0~, T16IZ SUPER V2.0~, or T26SZ V3.0~ transmitter.
- PC with internet connection.
- microSD card.
- CGY750/GY701/GY520 code (sold separately).
Update Procedure:
- Download the update file from the Futaba WEB site (https://www.rc.futaba.co.jp/support/software/) to your PC.
- Unzip the downloaded update file.
- Copy the "FUTABA" folder to the microSD card.
- Insert the microSD card with the "FUTABA" folder into the transmitter.
- Connect the GYA573 to the transmitter as shown in the diagram.
Connection Diagram (Transmitter)
Connect the GYA573 to the transmitter using the CGY750/GY701/GY520 code. Ensure the receiver battery is connected.
- Turn on the transmitter's power and navigate to the System Menu, then select "Update". Choose "Gyro Update" and then "GYA573".
Note: If CRSF is enabled, the update option will not appear. Disable CRSF in the Linkage Menu's System Type before proceeding.
Follow the on-screen prompts to select the GYA573 for update.
- Press and hold the SW while turning on the receiver power.
- Enter the GYA573 into update mode as shown in the diagram.
- Tap the "Update" button on the transmitter.
Step 10: Start Update
The update will begin. Wait for the process to complete.
Step 11: Completion
Upon successful completion, the screen will indicate that the update is finished.
Error Display:
If an error occurs, please restart the update process from the beginning. If the error persists, re-download the update file.
Update Failure:
- Mode LED Red solid, Data LED Red solid.
