Important Safety Instructions

Read all instructions carefully before use. This appliance is for household use only.

• General Warnings: Always follow basic precautions when using an electrical appliance. Inspect all parts for damage before each use. Use only identical replacement parts. Do not use the robotic vacuum cleaner for any purpose other than described in this manual. Keep parts away from water or other liquids, except for filters.
• Use Warnings: This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if supervised. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance should not be done by children without supervision. Always turn off the robot before handling filters or the dust bin. Do not handle the plug, charging base, or robot with wet hands. Do not use without the robot dust bin and filters in place.
• Cord Safety: Do not pull or carry the charging base by the cord, use the cord as a handle, or unplug by pulling the cord. Keep the cord away from sharp corners and heated surfaces.
• Usage Restrictions: Do not put objects into openings. Keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow. Do not use if airflow is restricted. Keep openings away from hair, face, fingers, uncovered feet, or loose clothing. Do not use if the robot is damaged, dropped, or exposed to water. Do not place the vacuum cleaner on unstable surfaces. Do not use to pick up liquids, large objects, hard or sharp objects, large quantities of dust, smoking or burning objects, flammable or combustible materials, or toxic materials.
• Area Restrictions: Do not use on wet or damp surfaces, outdoors, in enclosed spaces with explosive or toxic fumes, near fireplaces with unobstructed entrances, or near space heaters.
• Maintenance Precautions: Turn off the robot before any adjustment, cleaning, or maintenance. Allow all filters to air-dry completely before replacing. Do not attempt to repair the robot yourself.
• Battery Safety: Use only the specified Shark® self-empty base and battery. Keep the battery away from metal objects to prevent short-circuiting. Avoid contact with battery liquid, as it may cause irritation or burns. Do not expose the battery to fire or temperatures above 265°F (130°C).
• BotBoundary® Strips: Do not place strips under carpets or rugs, or on top of each other. Use them around reflective flooring, surfaces, and carpeted stairs. Ensure they are placed flat and do not overlap.

Getting to Know Your Shark IQ Robot®

Robot Components:

• Front: Front Bumper, Clean Button, Dock Button, Navigation Module, Vision Module, Cliff and Boundary Sensors, Charging Contacts, Front Caster Wheel, Robot Dust Bin and Filter, Side Brush, Battery Door, Self-Cleaning Brushroll.
• Base: Base Dust Bin, Fill Window, Dust Bin Release Tabs, Debris Discharge Opening, Docking Sensor, Power Button.
• Front View: Fill Window, Base Dust Bin, Post-Motor Filter Access Door, Debris Intake, Charging Contact, Pre-Motor Filter Housing.
• Back View: Base Dust Bin, Post-Motor Filter Access Door, Charging Base, Power Cord, Power Cord Wrap, Power Switch, Charging Contact.

Indicator Lights:

• Charge Indicator Lights: Show remaining battery charge (Full, Partial, Low). Blue lights flash while charging and are steady when fully charged.
• Error Indicator Light: Indicates errors; refer to the Troubleshooting section.
• Wi-Fi Indicator Light: Blue light indicates connection to Wi-Fi. Red light indicates no connection. Flashing blue indicates setup mode. No light means not set up.

Buttons:

• Clean Button: Starts or stops a cleaning session. Press and hold for 15 seconds to turn Recharge & Resume ON or OFF.
• Dock Button: Stops cleaning and sends the robot back to the charging base. Press and hold for 15 seconds to turn Evacuate & Resume ON or OFF.

Base Setup

Select a permanent location for the self-empty base in a central area with a good Wi-Fi signal. Ensure there are no objects within 3 feet on either side or 5 feet in front of the base. Plug in the charging cord and turn on the power switch. The indicator light will be green when the base has power. For best results, set up the base on a bare floor or thin carpet, or use the included SharkMat.

Installing the Side Brushes:

Snap the two side brushes onto the square pegs on the bottom of the robot.

Charging

Ensure the Power button on the robot is ON. The robot will beep when charging begins. If the robot does not return to the base, manually place it on the base, ensuring the charging contacts align. The base indicator light will flash blue, and the robot will beep when charging starts. Both blue LED lights on the robot will flash while charging and illuminate steadily when complete. Charging may take up to 6 hours.

Prep Your Home

Prepare your home for optimal robot navigation:

• Obstructions: Clear cords and small objects from floors. Open interior doors to ensure a complete map.
• Thresholds: Block off high thresholds (over 1 inch) with BotBoundary® strips.
• Stairs: Ensure cliff sensors work properly by placing rugs and carpets at least 8 inches from stairs or extending them over the edge. Block carpeted stairs with BotBoundary® strips.
• Scheduling: Set up a cleaning schedule in the app for consistent cleaning.
• BotBoundary® Strips: Use these strips to create no-go zones for areas like near power cords or high thresholds. Cut to size if needed, ensuring a minimum of 18 inches. Place them flat and without overlap.
• Avoid Moving: Do not pick up or move the robot or charging base while cleaning, as this can affect the robot's mapping ability.
• Check Base Fill Level: Regularly check the base dust bin, especially during the first few weeks.

Mapping and Navigation

The robot creates a map of your home as it cleans. This process may take several cleanings. Once mapping is complete, an interactive map will be available in the app. You can name rooms, select rooms for cleaning, and send the robot to specific locations. The robot will refine its path for optimized cleaning coverage.

Manual Cleaning Mode:

Press the Clean button on the robot or in the mobile app to start cleaning. Press the Dock button to stop cleaning and return the robot to the base.

Using the SharkClean™ App and Voice Controls

The SharkClean™ app offers features like an Interactive Map, Room Select, Recharge & Resume, Scheduling, Control From Anywhere, Cleaning Reports, and Volume Control. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play.

Voice Control Setup:

Follow instructions at sharkclean.com/app to enable Shark Skill for Amazon Alexa and use with Google Assistant. Example commands are provided for both.

Wi-Fi Troubleshooting:

• Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz network.
• Do not use a VPN or proxy server.
• Turn off Wi-Fi isolation on your router.
• If you cannot connect, call 1-888-228-5531.

Still Can't Connect?

Try restarting your phone, rebooting your robot (turn power off for 10 seconds), and rebooting your router (unplug for 30 seconds).

Maintenance

Emptying the Robot Dust Bin:

Press the Dust Bin Release Tabs and slide out the dust bin. Pinch and lift to open the lid. Empty debris into trash. Clean any debris buildup around the filter and plastic shield.

Emptying the Base Dust Bin:

The Base Dust Bin holds up to 30 days of debris. Empty it when the debris level approaches the max fill line. Press the release button on the handle and slide out the bin. Hold over a trash can and press the Empty button.

Cleaning and Replacing the Robot Filter:

Regularly clean and replace the filter inside the robot's dust bin. Do not use water to clean the robot filter. Lightly tap the filter to remove dust and debris. Reinsert the filter into the dust bin.

Cleaning and Replacing the Base Filters:

Rinse base filters with cold water only. Allow all filters to air-dry for at least 24 hours before reinstalling. Do not use soap. Replace pre-motor filters monthly and the post-motor filter yearly.

Self-Cleaning Brushroll:

The brushroll removes debris as it cleans. If debris remains, continue cleaning. If necessary, remove the brushroll, clean it, and reinstall it.

Cleaning Sensors and Charging Pads:

Gently dust off sensors and charging pads with a dry cloth as needed. Sensors may work less effectively when dirty.

Cleaning Side Brushes:

Carefully unwind and remove any string or hair. Gently wipe brushes with a dry cloth. Snap brushes back onto pegs and spin manually to ensure correct installation. Replace bent or damaged brushes.

Cleaning the Wheels:

Remove the front caster wheel and clean any debris buildup. Clean the wheel housing and reinsert the wheel. Periodically clean the drive wheels and their housing by rotating them while dusting.

Replacement Parts

Replacement parts for the robot include filters, robot dust bin, self-cleaning brushroll, battery, brushroll door, BotBoundary® strips, pre-motor foam & felt filter kit, and side brushes. This agreement outlines the terms and conditions for using SharkNinja Software Applications (SN APPS). It covers license grants, restrictions, data and privacy, updates, and intellectual property rights. SharkNinja disclaims warranties and limits liability for the software.

SharkNinja warrants the unit to be free from defects in material and workmanship for one year from the purchase date. This warranty covers repair or replacement of defective components.
