Sensor Coverage

The sensor coverage diagram illustrates a circular detection pattern with a maximum range of 26 feet (8 meters) and a 360-degree detection angle. The recommended mounting height for optimal performance is between 8 to 20 feet.

Initial Operation and Settings

Once powering the device up, the BRI810-B-D will use factory default parameters to operate.

Warm-up Time: 15 seconds. After connecting power for the first time, the light will remain on for 15 seconds, then proceed to dimming mode.

Factory Default Settings: 100% sensitivity, Hold on time: 10 seconds, Daylight sensor: 30lux, Dimming level: 30%, Dimming time: 60 minutes.

Note: Any setting changed by DIP Switch or remote control will be confirmed by the connected LED light turning on/off.

Utilizing Field and Introduction

The BRI810-B-D is a moving object sensor with a 360° detection range, operating at a frequency of 5.8GHz. Its advantages include a stable working state across a wide temperature range (-40°C to +70°C). The BRI810-B utilizes a microwave sensor with a high-frequency output of <0.2mW, making it safe and superior to infrared sensors.

Function and Options

This microwave sensor enables tri-level dimming control, suitable for areas requiring a gradual light change before switching off. It offers three levels of light control: 100% brightness, dimming light (0%, 10%, 30%, 50%), and off. Additionally, it provides two selectable waiting periods: motion hold-time and stand-by time, along with selectable daylight threshold and detection area options.

Scenario 1: With sufficient natural light, the light does not switch on when presence is detected.

Scenario 2: With insufficient natural light, the sensor automatically switches on the light when a person enters the room.

Scenario 3: After a person leaves, the light dims to the selected standby level (0%, 10%, 30%, or 50%) after the hold time elapses.

Scenario 4: The light switches off automatically after the stand-by time has elapsed.

Wiring Diagrams

Wiring with Dimming Ballast or LED Driver

This diagram illustrates the connections for a dimming driver. The sensor's VIOLET wire connects to the dimming control (+), and the GRAY/PINK wire connects to the dimming control (-). The LOAD (Red) wire from the sensor connects to the load, while LINE (Black) and NEUTRAL (White) wires connect to the power supply.

Wiring with Non-Dimming Ballast or LED Driver

This diagram shows the connections for a non-dimming driver. The sensor's VIOLET wire connects to the load output, and the GRAY/PINK wire connects to the neutral. The LOAD (Red) wire from the sensor connects to the load, while LINE (Black) and NEUTRAL (White) wires connect to the power supply. A "Close End Wire Connector" is also indicated.

Parameter Setting by DIP Switch

The BRI810-B-D features DIP switches 1 through 10 for parameter configuration. The following table outlines the functions of each switch pair:

Detection Range Setting (Sensitivity)

Detection range refers to the radius of the circular detection zone on the ground, based on the mounting height (8-20ft). The "[ON]" position for a switch is indicated by "+", and "[OFF]" by "".

Sensitivity Settings (DIP Switches 1, 2)
Switch 1Switch 2Detection Range
[OFF][OFF]20%
[ON][OFF]50%
[OFF][ON]75%
[ON][ON]100%

Hold Time Setting

The light can be set to remain ON for a duration between approximately 10 seconds and a maximum of 15 minutes. Any detected movement before the timer expires will restart the timing process. It is recommended to select the shortest time for adjusting the detection zone and performing walk tests.

Hold Time Settings (DIP Switches 3, 4)
Switch 3Switch 4Hold Time
[OFF][OFF]10S
[ON][OFF]1 Min
[OFF][ON]5 Min
[ON][ON]15 Min

Light-control Setting (Lux)

The light response threshold can be set infinitely from approximately 10 to 50 lux.

Light Control Settings (DIP Switches 5, 6)
Switch 5Switch 6Lux Level
[OFF][OFF][Light sensor disable]
[ON][OFF]10Lux
[OFF][ON]30Lux
[ON][ON]50Lux

Parameter Setting by Remote Control

Detailed parameter settings can be configured using the RC-100 remote control. Please refer to the separate manual for the RC-100 for specific instructions.

Stand-by Settings

Stand-by Light Level Setting

This setting determines the dimming level when the sensor is in standby mode after the hold time has elapsed.

Stand-by Light Level Settings (DIP Switches 7, 8)
Switch 7Switch 8Stand-by Level
[OFF][OFF]0%
[ON][OFF]10%
[OFF][ON]30%
[ON][ON]50%

Stand-by Time Setting

This setting defines the duration the light remains at the dimming level before switching off completely.

Stand-by Time Settings (DIP Switches 9, 10)
Switch 9Switch 10Stand-by Time
[OFF][OFF]1 Min
[ON][OFF]30 Min
[OFF][ON]60 Min
[ON][ON][Not specified in diagram, likely default or unused]

Installation

The installation process involves mounting the sensor using 3mm self-tapping screws. Ensure an antenna hole with a diameter of 16-20 mm is available for installation.

Certifications

The product is cULus Listed (E484113) and complies with FC regulations.
