Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I share with family and friends?
Yes. In the Geeni app, go to Profile and select "Device Sharing" to grant or revoke access to your Geeni devices (cameras, bulbs, sensors, etc.) for family and friends. The other user must have the Geeni app downloaded and an account registered.
2. How many devices can I control?
The Geeni app can manage an unlimited number of devices across unlimited locations. However, your Wi-Fi router may have a limit on the number of devices it can connect simultaneously.
3. My sensor has a funny name. How do I rename it?
From your main device list, tap the sensor you wish to rename. Tap the [more options icon] (three dots) in the top right for advanced settings. Select "Modify Device Name" and enter a new, familiar name.
4. What should I do if the sensor appears offline or unreachable?
Ensure your Wi-Fi router is online and within range of the sensor. Check for any internet connection problems. You can also check for the latest Geeni app functionality by tapping "Check for firmware update" in your device settings.
5. What's the wireless range?
The wireless range is heavily dependent on your home router and environmental conditions (e.g., room layout, obstructions). Consult your router's specifications for exact range data.
6. If my Wi-Fi/internet goes down, will Geeni still work?
Geeni products require a stable Wi-Fi connection to function and be used remotely. Without an internet connection, remote access and smart features will be unavailable.
Troubleshooting
Unable to connect to your Wi-Fi network?
Verify that you entered the correct Wi-Fi password during setup. Check for general internet connection problems. If the Wi-Fi signal is weak, try resetting your Wi-Fi router and attempting the connection again.
