Step 1: Accessing the Laser Assembly
Objective: View the laser assembly and disconnect the ribbon cable.
Description: The first step involves interacting with the DVD player's top mechanism to expose internal parts.
- Press the eject button to open the DVD tray and view the laser assembly inside.
- Using blue plastic tools and tweezers, carefully remove the ribbon cable connected to the laser assembly.
Caution: Do not touch the laser lens. (Original French: NE PAS TOUCHER LA LENTILLE)
Step 2: Removing the Bottom Casing
Objective: Detach the bottom panel of the DVD player.
Description: This step focuses on unscrewing and prying open the main body of the device.
- Remove the six 1cm screws located on the bottom of the device using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.
- Important: Do not lift the top of the DVD player too quickly after removing screws, as internal wires may still be attached.
- Gently pry the top casing open, starting from the right side where the control buttons are located.
Step 3: Disconnecting Internal Cables
Objective: Safely disconnect ribbon cables from the circuit board.
Description: This step details how to detach specific cables from the main circuit board.
- When pulling ribbon cables, ensure you do not pull by the wires themselves, as this can cause damage.
- To remove the wires circled in red on the circuit board, pinch the plastic adapter with two fingers and then detach.
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
