DIHOOM Smart Battery Powered IP Camera User Manual

This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, configuring, and using your DIHOOM Smart Battery Powered IP Camera. Please read carefully before installation and operation.

I. Statement

  1. DIHOOM strives to ensure the manual is complete and accurate, but discrepancies may occur due to product and app updates.
  2. Product and manual are subject to change without prior notification.

II. Safety Caution

  1. Read the manual carefully and follow instructions during operation.
  2. Do not transform, modify, open, or disassemble the product.
  3. Use the product within its standard working temperature and humidity.
  4. Avoid exposing the device to mud, sand, water, drops, or bumps, as this can lead to failure or damage.
  5. Do not use the product during extreme weather conditions like fire, earthquake, lightning, wind, flood, or other disasters, or due to external factors like pollution or voltage disturbances.
  6. If the camera will not be used for an extended period (a week or more), remove it and store it indoors. Moisture in the environment can affect the main board and cause rust.
  7. DIHOOM is not responsible for malfunctions or damages caused by bracket failures (e.g., storage in hot/humid places, battery leakage) or improper protection.
  8. Before installation, open the package and test the camera's functionality to ensure it is working correctly.
  9. Although the camera is waterproof, it is recommended to install it in a shaded area (e.g., under eaves) to prevent accelerated wear and tear.

III. Product Description

IV. Configuration on Phone App

1. Download CloudEdge App on smartphone

1.1 Search for the "CloudEdge" app in your phone's app store or Google Play and install it. (The app may be updated; the QR codes provided are for reference only.)

1.2 Please grant the following permissions when running the app for the first time:

  • Step 1: Enable 4G or wireless LAN on your phone.
  • Step 2: Enable CloudEdge "Notification" in your phone's Settings. Navigate to Settings >> Notification >> CloudEdge, and enable "Allow notification".

2. Create Account and Login

  1. Select your country (e.g., United States).
  2. Tap "Sign up now" in the lower right corner of the screen.
  3. Enter an email address, create a nickname and password, then tap "done".
  4. Your account will be successfully created, and you will be automatically logged in.

3. Configuration On Phone App

3.1 Power the camera

Step 1: Uncover the rubber seal on the camera's bottom. Press and hold the camera's power button for 5 seconds to turn it on. Ensure the front indicator light is red and blinking, indicating it's ready for network configuration.

If the camera does not turn on, please charge it with a DC5V 2A power adapter for 15 minutes to wake it up.

NOTE: A DC5V 2A power adapter is not included. Please use your phone charger.

3.2 Wi-Fi Configuration

Step 2: Place the camera and smartphone close to the router (30-100 cm). Connect your phone to the router's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network only.

Step 3: Reset the camera by quickly pressing the power button twice. You should hear a "bugu" sound.

3.3 Wi-Fi Configuration (Continued)

Step 1: Add device on the app. Run the CloudEdge App on your phone, tap "Add device" on the screen, and choose "Battery Camera".

Step 2: Ensure you follow the correct procedure to power on the camera, and the indicator turns red and blinks slowly.

3.4 Wi-Fi Setup

Step 3: Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi SSID and enter the password, then click "Next".

3.5 QR Code Scan

Step 4: Follow the "Operation instruction" on the app. Remove the protective film from the camera lens and tap "Next" to generate a QR code. Scan the QR code with the camera lens at a distance of 10-15 cm (3.9-5.9 inches) until the QR code is recognized. You will hear a "Bugu" sound upon successful recognition.

3.6 Connection Success

Step 5: Click "Next". The camera will begin connecting to Wi-Fi. Once connected, a "connection successfully" notification page will appear. Click "Next" to go to the "Devices" screen. Wi-Fi connection is now complete, and you can watch the live video.

4. SD card recording

This product does not include an SD card. Please purchase one separately to store your files.

4.1 SD card requirements:

  1. Recommend using branded cards such as SanDisk, Samsung, etc.
  2. Supports 2-128GB capacity.
  3. Recommend using standard Class 10 SD cards.
  4. Only FAT32 format is supported.

Note: Insert the memory card into the SD card slot. The device will automatically start saving videos.

4.2 How to watch videos on SD card:

  1. In the app, click the "History" or "Alert" button on the alarm information icon to access the video playback interface. Drag the timeline or select an alarm point to find the desired time period.
  2. Insert the SD card into your computer. Video files are in MP4 format and can be played using a standard video player.

5. More Statement About Camera

The wireless battery smart camera is designed for motion-triggered recording and alerts, not 24-hour continuous surveillance. When not in use or when no motion is detected, the camera enters standby mode with the front indicator off.

The camera can only be set up on one phone at a time. To set it up on a new phone, a reset is required. You can share the device with others via the default mobile phone. Refer to section "V. Share Device with Family" for detailed instructions.

V. Share Device With Family

1. Sign Up New Account

On another phone, download and install the CloudEdge App, then sign up and log in with a new account. (Follow the instructions in section "IV. Configuration on Phone App > 2. Create Account and Login".)

2. Device Share

2.1 Sharing is achieved through the "Shared" function.

  1. Invite your friends to download and install the "CloudEdge" App and log in.
  2. Click the "Shared" icon, then "shared family", and tap the home name you wish to share on the listing, then "+Add member".

2.2 There are two methods to establish sharing:

A. QR code sharing: On your default phone app, tap "Scan QR Code". Then, scan your family member's app QR code. (Access QR code via: 1. Me -> Tap the QR code on the right top, or 2. Me >> My Information >> My QR Code).

B. Sharing through account: Choose "enter account" and input the family account ID.

3. Shared device:

Click "Shared device" to watch the operation video and follow the steps to complete device sharing.

Tip: When sharing, ensure the app accounts are registered in the same region. Otherwise, sharing may not be successful.

VI. CloudEdge APP Menu

1. Main Page

The main page offers the following functions:

  1. Simultaneous 4-split screen playback.
  2. Add devices.
  3. Camera display mode and device management.
  4. Recording date & time.
  5. Hide current view.
  6. Go to the video view page.
  7. Playback motion recordings.
  8. Camera ID or name.
  9. Main functions access.

2. Main Functions

The main functions accessible from the app include:

  • ① Notification: Turn device notifications on/off.
  • ② Device Share: Share the device with others.
  • ③ Alarm Message: Check alarm messages.
  • ④ Setting: Adjust device settings.
  • ⑤ Help & Feedback: Send feedback to the support team.

3. Preview page

The preview page allows for various actions:

  1. Parameter settings (alarm settings, video, lighting, device information, firmware upgrade, etc.).
  2. Turn the microphone on/off.
  3. Video definition settings (SD, HD options).
  4. Full-screen display.
  5. SD card video playback.
  6. Cloud storage video playback.
  7. Manual screen-shot.
  8. Voice intercom (long press to talk).
  9. Manually capture video clips.
  10. Turn on/off motion detection.
  11. Turn on/off floodlight.
  12. Turn on/off siren.
  13. Audio warning and strobe light.
  14. Full-color mode.
  15. Store screen-shots and manual video files.

Tip: Pinch or stretch two fingers on your phone screen to zoom in or out of the image.

4. Video replay page

The video replay page provides:

  1. Video timeline with drag-and-drop time selection.
  2. Timeline zoom control.
  3. Select video playback date.
  4. Select alarm video clips.
  5. Video screen-shot.
  6. Record video: Click once to start recording, click again to end.
  7. Save video screen-shots and recorded videos.

5. Setup page

The setup page allows you to:

  1. Get device information (modify device name, network information, MAC address, time zone).
  2. Enable alert notifications.
  3. Access installation guide and network diagnostics.
  4. Enable 12-hour clock.
  5. Adjust light settings, night vision, and screen flip.
  6. Adjust speaker volume.
  7. Adjust detection sensitivity, set alert plans, recording length, alarm intervals, motion detection settings, and optimize battery life.
  8. Check battery level.
  9. View SD card capacity and format the card.
  10. Access cloud storage services.
  11. Perform version upgrades.
  12. Restart the device.
  13. Delete the device and operate it before rewiring.

VII. Installation

1. Camera Surveillance Area

When installing the camera, ensure the PIR sensor is not vertically aligned with moving objects, as this can reduce sensitivity. It is recommended to tilt the camera more than 10 degrees to capture motion effectively.

2. Camera Installation

2.1 Similar to the surveillance area, avoid vertical alignment of the PIR sensor with moving objects for optimal sensitivity. Tilting the camera more than 10 degrees is recommended.

2.2 Use an electric drill to create holes in the wall and secure the bracket base with screws.

2.3 Rotate the bracket wing clockwise to install the camera. Rotate the bracket wing counterclockwise to remove the camera when necessary.

Installation Tips:

1) In the "setting" menu, "battery management" allows you to view the current battery status and charging schematic.

2) In the "setting" menu, access the "installation guide". Tap "Next" to test the Wi-Fi strength at your desired location. Install the camera where the Wi-Fi signal is strong.

3. Tips to Reduce False Alarms

  • Do not install the camera facing directly towards bright light sources, including sunlight or bright lamps.
  • Avoid installing the camera in areas with frequent vehicle or pedestrian traffic, such as streets.
  • Keep the camera away from air conditioning vents, humidifiers, or heat transfer openings of projectors.
  • Do not position the camera facing mirrors or glass surfaces.
  • Maintain a distance of at least 1 meter between the camera and other wireless devices to prevent interference.
  • Ensure there are no obstacles within 3 meters in front of the camera lens.

VIII. Troubleshooting & FQA

2. FAQ:

  1. The Battery Camera does not support 24/7 constant recording; it only supports motion event recording when motion is detected.
  2. The Battery Camera does not support PC software or browser access.
  3. The Battery Camera does not support 5G Wi-Fi.
  4. The Battery Camera supports DC5V 1A/2A chargers. Using your phone charger, it takes approximately 5-6 hours for a full charge.
  5. The IP battery camera supports offline recording with an SD card. It cannot work without Wi-Fi but supports event recording when Wi-Fi is disconnected, provided it was initially configured with a 2.4G Wi-Fi network.
  6. There is no limit to adding IP cameras to the app or sharing videos with others. However, the system allows only 2 devices to be online simultaneously.
  7. Regarding SD card:
    7.1 Please ensure you use a good brand SD card (e.g., Kingston, SanDisk) of Class 10 level, up to 128GB.
    7.2 Format the SD card on a PC or re-insert it if CloudEdge cannot read it.
    7.3 If no SD card is inserted, the system will save snap photos in the "Events" list for alarm recordings. If an SD card is inserted, snapshot photos will not be saved.
