Charging the Batteries:
Connect the Y-splitter charging cable to the charging ports on the radios and plug the AC adapter into a power outlet. The battery indicator will show the charging status.
Basic Operation
Turning the Radio On/Off:
Press and hold the POWER button [▶️] to turn the radio on or off.
Selecting a Channel:
Use the UP [⬆️] and DOWN [⬇️] buttons to select a channel from 1 to 22.
Transmitting:
Press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button [?️] and speak into the microphone. Release the button to receive.
Receiving:
Ensure the radio is on and tuned to the desired channel. You will hear transmissions automatically.
Advanced Features
NOAA Weather Alerts:
Press the WEATHER button [☁️] to scan for NOAA weather channels. The radio will alert you to severe weather conditions.
VibrAlert®:
Activate VibrAlert® by pressing the MENU button [⚙️] until the VibrAlert® icon appears, then press UP or DOWN to turn it on/off.
Call Alert:
Press the CALL button [?] to send a call alert tone to other radios on the same channel.
Roger Beep:
Enable or disable the Roger Beep tone, which signals the end of a transmission, via the MENU settings.
