General Information and Measurements

This guide provides instructions for the installation of Miele PUR 68 W, PUR 88 W, and PUR 98 W cooker hoods. Please refer to the following measurements for correct placement and mounting:

• Maximum height from hob surface: ≤ 475mm
• Distance from wall unit to front edge: 385 mm
• The letter AL indicates components for air extraction installations.
• The letter UL indicates components for recirculating installations.

Installation Steps

Follow these steps for the proper installation of your Miele cooker hood:

1. Preparation: Identify the correct installation type (air extraction or recirculating) and gather all necessary components. Ensure you have the required tools, including an 8mm drill bit for wall mounting and a T30 screwdriver.
2. Mounting Bracket Installation: Securely attach the mounting bracket to the wall or cabinet using the provided screws. The diagram shows the placement and alignment of the bracket. Use 8x 8x50mm screws and 5x60mm screws as indicated.
3. Ducting Connection (Air Extraction): Connect the air duct to the cooker hood outlet. Ensure a secure fit. The diagram shows the connection of an 8mm diameter duct.
4. Ducting Connection (Recirculating): For recirculating installations, connect the appropriate filter unit (e.g., Miele DUW 20) as shown in the diagrams.
5. Securing the Hood: Mount the cooker hood onto the installed bracket. Use the provided screws (e.g., 2x M6 screws) to secure the unit.
6. Adjustments: Ensure the cooker hood is level using a spirit level. Adjust the mounting as needed.
7. Filter Installation: Insert the grease filters into their designated slots. The diagrams show how to correctly position and secure the filters. For PUR 68 W and PUR 88 W, 2 filters are required. For PUR 98 W, 3 filters are required.
8. Electrical Connection: Connect the power cord to a suitable electrical outlet.
9. Final Assembly: Attach any remaining covers or trim pieces as per the diagrams.
